We bring you last week's top performances from Bulgarians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

Gergana Georgieva
Gergana Georgieva
#1. This week's number one is former U20 international guard Gergana Georgieva (181-87, currently plays in Germany). She led ASC Theresianum Mainz to a victory over the tenth-ranked Wasserburg II (4-14) 73-64 in the German 2.Bundesliga (second division) in Sunday night's game. Georgieva was MVP of the game. She had a double-double by scoring 26 points and getting 19 rebounds in 34 minutes on the court. ASC Theresianum Mainz (3-16) is placed 11th in South group. It was her team's first victory after nine consecutive loses. They will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. It's Georgieva's first season with the team. Georgieva has individually a very good year with high stats. She averages: 16.3ppg, 9.8rpg, 3.1apg, 2.5spg, 2FGP: 52.9%, 3FGP: 21.9% and FT: 73.6% in 19 games she played so far. Georgieva has a dual citizenship: Bulgarian and German. She played for the Bulgarian U20 national team ten years ago.

Diana Voynova

#2. Second place goes to an international power forward Diana Voynova (192-88, college: Duquesne, currently plays in Germany). Voynova contributed to a BC Pharmaserv Marburg's victory against the closely-ranked TV Saarlouis Royals (12-8) 78-74 in the German DBBL last Sunday. She scored 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. BC Pharmaserv Marburg (13-7) is placed third in the DBBL. It was her team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Voynova has relatively good stats this season: 10.7ppg, 7.7rpg, 1.1apg, 1.2bpg, 2FGP: 45.7% and FT: 55.7%. She is in the roster of the Bulgarian senior national team.

#3. The Bulgarian player who performed third best last week abroad was former U16 international power forward Katrin Stoichkova (182-99, currently plays in Italy). Stoichkova was the major contributor in Viterbo's victory against the 11th-ranked Pordenone (3-15) 60-46 in the Italian Serie A2 (second division) on Sunday night. She scored 10 points in 19 minutes. Defensor Viterbo (5-13) is placed ninth in Group B. They ended the series of three consecutive loses. This year Stoichkova's overall stats are: 4.3ppg, 2.9rpg, 1.1spg, 2FGP: 42.7%, 3FGP: 9.1% and FT: 37.5% in 17 games. She played for the Bulgarian U16 national team two years ago.

   #2.
