The most exciting game of round 21 in the NBL took place in Plovdiv. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Balkan (9-10) to third ranked Academik Plovdiv (12-6) 85-82 on Friday evening. French-American forward Jordan Semple (201-92, college: Chico St., agency: Octagon Europe) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 blocks for the winners and American guard Shakir Smith (185-92, college: Adams St.) chipped in 24 points. The best for the losing side was American forward Travis Daniels (202-92, college: Mississippi St.) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 17 rebounds. Academik Plovdiv maintains third place with 12-6 record having five points less than leader Lukoil Acad. Balkan lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with ten games lost. Academik Plovdiv are looking forward to face Cherno More (#7) in Varna in the next round. Balkan will have a break next round.
NBL top team - Lukoil Acad. (16-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Cherno More (5-14) in Varna 107-60. American-Cameroonian point guard Danny Gibson (177-84, college: S.Indiana) nailed 15 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and Maxym Korniyenko accounted for 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Serbian power forward Nikola Djuric (201-91) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for Cherno More in the defeat. Cherno More's coach Spas Natov gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Lukoil Acad. have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 16-3 record. Cherno More lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 14 games lost. Lukoil Acad.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Sofia to the arena Levski.
The game in Yambol was also quite interesting. Third ranked Beroe (13-6) played at the court of 8th ranked Yambol (4-14). Beroe defeated Yambol 82-72 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Aaron Jones who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Tsvetoslav Ostrev who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Beroe have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Yambol at the other side keeps the eighth position with 14 games lost. Beroe will meet at home Spartak Pleven (#5) in the next round. Yambol will play against Rilski in Samokov and hope to secure a win.

In the last game of round 21 Rilski won against Levski on the opponent's court 85-69.

Yambol - Beroe 72-82

The game in Yambol was also quite interesting. Third ranked Beroe (13-6) played at the court of 8th ranked Yambol (4-14). Beroe defeated Yambol 82-72 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American forward Aaron Jones (206-93, college: Mississippi, agency: Two Points) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Brandis Raley-Ross (191-87, college: S.Carolina) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Tsvetoslav Ostrev (175-86) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists and guard Stanislav Govedarov (185-80) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Beroe have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Yambol at the other side keeps the eighth position with 14 games lost. Beroe will meet at home Spartak Pleven (#5) in the next round. Yambol will play against Rilski in Samokov and hope to secure a win.

Lukoil Acad. players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Very expected game in Sofia where 9th ranked Levski (4-15) was defeated by fourth ranked Rilski (12-7) 85-69 on Friday. Rilski outrebounded Levski 41-19 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward DJ Shelton (208-91, college: Washington St.) who had a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds. The former international guard Zlatin Georgiev (197-85) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Rilski's coach Ludmil Hadjisotirov used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Veselin Veselinov (202-83, college: W.Virginia St.) who recorded 21 points and 6 rebounds and international guard Evgeni Hadjirusev (193-95) added 16 points, 5 assists and 4 steals respectively.
