Finals, Game 3: Zagreb beats Cedevita 85-89 in
OT to win the championship title, first ever - Jun 5, 2011

Zagreb is the new champion of Croatia. It is their first championship
title in the club's history. Zagreb managed to beat Cedevita 85-89 on the
road tonight and they needed an overtime to do it. The Finals series
ended with 3-0, despite Cedevita had a home court advantage in this
series. Zagreb celebrated twice on
the road and once at home to win the trophy. It is important to mention
that
Zagreb already
won the Croatian cup earlier this year.
The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 23-15 charge
in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of
regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that
period 14-10. KK Zagreb CO made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent)
during the game. It was a great evening for the former international
swingman
Krunoslav Simon (197-85) who led his team to a victory with a
double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at
the free throw line !!!). American guard
Alex Renfroe (190-86, college:
Belmont) helped adding 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Five KK
Zagreb CO players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side
was the former international swingman
Marino Bazdaric (197-78) with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists
and American guard
Dontaye Draper (180-84, college:
Charleston) scored 20 points.
Zagreb finished regular season as No.3 with 11-3 record and later they
eliminated Zadar in the Semis. Zagreb will play in Euroleague next
season.

Kresimir Cosic Cup: Zagreb defends the trophy,

Zagreb defended National Cup trophy. They had to work hard against Zadar
in the Finals and managed to win it 91-85. Zagreb was down by five
before the last quarter, but they exploded when it was the most
important and won the last period 28-17.
Mario Kasun (213-C-80) was a key player in Zagreb collecting 27
points and 9 rebounds. He was named MVP of the Final Tournament and also
was the best scorer of this event.
Damir Mulaomerovic (195-G-74, agency:
FCM) helped Zagreb with 14 points. In the loosing squad,
Brandon Brown (202-F-81, college:
Tulane) shined with 23 pts.
In the Semifinals, Zagreb eliminated Cibona 93-86. Zadar reached the
Finals thanks to 83-82 win against Cedevita. This is third National Cup
trophy for Zagreb in their history. They won it in 2008, 2010 and of
course this year.
