A very close game took place in Zagreb between Cibona and Cedevita. Top-ranked Cibona (10-0) got a very close home victory over their biggest opponent Cedevita (7-3). Cibona managed to escape with a 3-point win 79-76 in the fight for the first place. Cedevita was trailing by 10 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 17-12 charge of Cibona, which allowed them to win the game. Cibona outrebounded Cedevita 39-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. The former international center Goran Suton (209-C-85, college: Michigan St.) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and international forward Damjan Rudez (206-86) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side international point guard Dontaye Draper (180-84, college: Charleston) responded with 14 points and 4 assists and American-Panamanian forward Levour Warren (196-81, college: S.Carolina, agency: SportsTalent) scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Cibona have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Championship Group with 10-0 record. Loser Cedevita keeps the second place with three games lost. Cibona's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Zagreb KK Zagreb CO.

Svjetlost - Zadar 64-63
A very interesting game took place in Slavonski Brod. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Zadar (6-4) to eighth ranked Svjetlost (2-8) 64-63 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Zadar. Zadar was ahead by 14 points at the halftime before a 32-17 second half run of Svjetlost. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Zadar to just 4 points in third quarter. Svjetlost shot 21 for 28 from the free-throw line, while Zadar only scored five points from the stripe. Svjetlost forced 19 Zadar turnovers. 26 personal fouls committed by Zadar helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international power forward Ljubo Samadan (208-83) notched 19 points to lead the effort and power forward Andrej Stimac (204-79) supported him with 13 points and 4 steals. Four Svjetlost players scored in double figures. Even 14 points by forward Ante Krapic (202-85) did not help to save the game for Zadar. Center Ive Ivanov (201-85) added 12 points for lost side. Zadar's coach Ales Pipan tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Svjetlost moved-up to sixth place in Championship Group, which they share with Jolly. Zadar at the other side dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. Svjetlost's next round opponent will be higher ranked KK Zagreb CO (#5) on the road and it may be quite challenging game. Zadar will play against the league's second-placed Cedevita in Zagreb and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Zabok - Jolly 78-89
Another exciting game was between seventh ranked Jolly and 6th ranked Zabok where Jolly (2-8) beat Zabok (1-9) on the road 89-78. The guests were ahead by 3 points but lost the second period ending it with a 4-point deficit before their 26-11 run, which allowed them to win the game. Jolly made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Jolly outrebounded Zabok 36-20 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Ronald Ross (188-83, college: Texas Tech) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Mate Mrva (195-83) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Five Jolly players scored in double figures. The former international guard Ivan Tomas (193-81) replied with 22 points and 6 assists and guard Robert Lez (192-79) added 21 points in the effort for Zabok. Jolly moved-up to sixth place in Championship Group, which they share with Svjetlost. Zabok lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. Jolly will play against higher ranked KK Split (#3) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Zabok will play against the league's leader Cibona (#1) in Zagreb to get more than just one victory in their record.

Darda - Dubrovnik 88-84
There was no surprise in Darda where 6th ranked Dubrovnik (6-11) was defeated by fourth ranked Vrijednosnice OS (8-9) 88-84 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Dubrovnik won third quarter 24-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vrijednosnice OS dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Dubrovnik's 36. Dubrovnik was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Antonio Bicvic (199-82) fired 23 points for the winners. Swingman Veljko Budimir (199-85, agency: Court Side) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. Four Vrijednosnice OS players scored in double figures. Bosnian forward Toni Bizaca (202-82) produced 25 points and Ivan Begic added 15 points respectively for lost side. Dubrovnik's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Vrijednosnice OS maintains fourth position in Play-Out with 8-9 record. Loser Dubrovnik dropped to the fifth place with 11 games lost. Vrijednosnice OS will face Borik Puntamika (#5) in Zadar in the next round. Dubrovnik will play at home against the league's leader Krizevci.

However their fans expected easier game. Borik Puntamika trailed by 16 points after 3 quarters before a 29-14 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 75-76 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Borik Puntamika 29-17 including a 23-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guard Josip Blajic (192-87, agency: Court Side) fired 15 points and 6 assists for the winners. point guard Matteo Juricic (192-91, agency: Kotnik Sports Agency) chipped in 18 points. Four Kvarner 2010 players scored in double figures. Round 10 in A1 means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Krizevci where host Krizevci (11-6) beat league's leader Alkar Sinj (10-7) 89-80 on Saturday evening. It was a key game for the top position in Play-Out. Alkar Sinj trailed by 16 points after 3 quarters before a 33-26 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 80-89 at the end of the game. Krizevci dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Alkar Sinj's 38 and made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Alkar Sinj 29-18 including 20 on the defensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by Alkar Sinj helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Forward Luka Zitko (201-81) fired 23 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Center Ivan Buva (208-91) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Andro Anzulovic (193-91) produced 15 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and forward Stjepan Tesija (206-89, agency: PEPI SPORT) added 17 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Four Alkar Sinj players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Krizevci have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of Play-Out leader. Alkar Sinj at the other side dropped to the third place with seven games lost. They share the position with Kvarner 2010. They were replaced at the leadership position by Cibona. Alkar Sinj will play next round against strong Kvarner 2010 trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Krizevci will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Dubrovnik on the road.
