WBC Novi Zagreb is proud to announce the signature of Inja Butina (172 - PG - 1995), one of the greatest talents of Croatian women's basketball, and certainly the most promising point guard. The former member of Croatia, 2006, signed a four-year contract.

Last weekend Inja 'dragged' Croatia 2006 to second place of Croatian junior championship, and with 39 points (24 against Jolly in semi's and 15 against Medvescak in finals) is the best scorer of the final tournament. During the Junior semi-final tournament, held prior to 14 days in Virje, she was earned the MVP title. Interestingly, the Jolly team was led by 'famous' Dujic and Cigic, two young players who ruined Novi Zagreb's dreams of entering the play off finals of Division 1. Inja destroyed their dreams, and is therefore a logical move by the club management about bringing Inja in the team.

'The facts we brought Inja to our club is a strong demonstrative example of changing the direction of the club's policy, in terms of development of young players and the team's future. Inja will have the maximum possible opportunity, playing with and against the top Croatian players in our club. It is invaluable for her, as young player to gain experience playing not only in Croatian the league fighting for survival as it was this year, but in strong games that decide the title. The same goes for matches in European competitions and in the Adriatic league. According to estimates of top Croatian basketball authorities (Zeljko Ciglar, Marijan Pasaric, Borna Augusti), Inja has the potential to reach and even surpass the performance of many other players, and even Nike Baric. We'll take great care of it. '- said the coach Vladimir Ivankovic.
