Here is the weekly review of the top performing Croatian players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international center Luksa Andric (210-85, agency: Beo Basket), who plays in the Turkish TBL. He could not help Galatasaray (25-5) in their last game. Despite Andric's good performance the league leader Galatasaray lost 73-84 in a derby game to the lower-ranked (#4) Besiktas. He recorded 12 points in only a mere 14 minutes on the court. This year Andric averages: 8.0ppg, 3.7rpg, 2FGP: 61.1%(116-190) and FT: 68.8% in the 36 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Croatian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international point guard Rok Stipcevic (185-86). Stipcevic led Cimberio Varese to a surprising victory over the league leader Montepaschi Siena (24-8) 73-70 in the Italian SerieA last Monday. He was MVP of the game. Stipcevic scored 19 points, had 4 boards, passed 3 assists and added 3 steals. Cimberio Varese (17-15) is placed eighth in the SerieA. Stipcevic has relatively good stats this season: 11.4ppg, 2.6rpg, 3.3apg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 57.1%(72-126), 3FGP: 36.4% and FT: 86.4%. He is in the roster of the Croatian senior national team.

   #3. The Croatian player who performed third best last week abroad was former U21 international center Bruno Sundov (221-80, agency: Alti Sport). Sundov led Lukoil Academik to a victory against the closely-ranked Levski Sofia (23-5) 87-80 in a derby game in the Bulgarian NBL on Tuesday night. He recorded 14 points and blocked 2 blocks in 30 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Lukoil Academik Sofia (25-3) is placed first in the NBL. This year Sundov has relatively solid stats: 12.6ppg, 5.9rpg, 3FGP: 40.2% and FT: 81.3% in the 36 games. He played for the Croatian U21 national team twelve years ago.

Ante Tomic
   #4. Center Ante Tomic (217-87) was not able to help Real Madrid (26-8) in their game against Caja Laboral (23-11) in the Spanish ACB. Tomic scored 8 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Real Madrid was edged in an overtime 82-79 on the road by the lower-ranked Caja Laboral (#3). Tomic's overall stats this season are: 8.0ppg and 4.5rpg. He is also Croatian national team player.

   #5. Former U20 international center Jure Lalic (212-86) contributed to Krka's victory against the second-ranked Union Olimpija (7-3) 67-55 in the Slovenian Telemach League last Thursday. Lalic recorded 11 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 25 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in Group Championship. Krka Novo Mesto (8-2) is placed first in Championship Group. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. It's Lalic's first season with the team. This year his overall stats are: 8.4ppg and 4.4rpg in the 16 games. Lalic used to play for the Croatian U20 national team six years ago.

   #6. An experienced forward Nikola Radulovic (207-73) was not able to secure a victory for Givova Scafati (17-11) in their game against Tuscany Pistoia (18-10) in the Italian Lega2 (second division). He scored 8 points and blocked 4 shots. Givova Scafati was defeated 69-58 in Pistoia by the second-ranked Tuscany. Radulovic is ranked fourth on the list of the best blockers in the league. He has very reliable stats this season: 10.8ppg, 4.8rpg, 1.7apg and 2.4spg. Despite Radulovic played previously for the Italian national team, he is also a former international player as he played for the Croatian senior team six years ago.

   #7. Former international guard Nikica Sljuka (187-87) couldn't help Olimpi (16-4) in their game against Armia (20-0) in the Georgian Superleague. Sljuka scored 5 points in 19 minutes. Olimpi was crushed 87-52 in a derby game by the leading Armia. They ended the series of five consecutive victories. This year Sljuka's total stats are: 7.7ppg, 1.9rpg and 1.2apg in the 17 games. He used to play for the Croatian national team eight years ago.

   #8. Guard Marcus Norris (185-74, agency: SportsTalent, college: Ball St.) managed to help Sport Lisboa Benfica to win against the league leader FC Porto Ferpinta (20-2) 56-53 in the Portuguese LPB last Wednesday. Norris scored only 2 points and had 3 steals. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Sport Lisboa Benfica (19-3) is placed second in the LPB. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Norris has averaged so far 7.4ppg, 3.2rpg, 3.2apg and 1.5spg. He is a naturalized American. Norris used to play for the Croatian national team back in 2004. Strangely he has never played in Croatia.

Croatian U20 National member Mladen Vujicevic(203-F/C-96) will continue his career it Italy with Siracusa, according to his agent. Vujicevic last season spent with Betaland Capo d'Orlando and averaged 0.7 points, 1.0 rebounds, 0.3 steals and 0.3 blocks in just three Serie A League games as he mostly played for the junior team. Vujicevic grew up with GKK Sibenik, he joined Ribona Kastela in 2014 and after one season he moved to Italy to play with Betaland Capo d'Orlando.   [read more]

Josip Sobin signs with Anwil Wloclawek - 1 day ago

Josip Sobin(205-C-89) signed with Anwil Wloclawek for the upcoming season with option for additional year, the Polish club announced. It will be his second season abroad, as the former Croatian U16 National Team member spent last season with Montakint Fuenlabrada in Spain. Sobin averaged 6.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, 0.6 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.4 blocks in 36 Liga Endesa games. Josip Sobin joins Anwil - 1 day ago

Anwil Wloclawek (TBL) agreed terms with 27-year old Croatian international center Josip Sobin(205-C-89, agency: Alti Sport). He played last season at Fuenlabrada in Spanish Liga Endesa. In 36 games he had 6.5ppg and 3.1rpg. The previous (14-15) season Sobin played at KK Zadar (A1) in Croatian league. In 16 games he recorded 12.8ppg, 7.8rpg, 3.6apg and 1.4spg.
