Czech Republic finally recorded victory at the international tournament in Lyon. They fired past Croatia to finish at 1-2 record. Eva Viteckova (190-F-82) stepped up with 15 points to lead the winners.
The teams stayed close throughout the opening quarter. The Czech team eked out a 20:19 lead after ten minutes. Czech Republic pulled ahead in the second quarter. They built a 44:34 halftime lead. The Czechs boosted the lead in the third frame. They opened a 15-point advantage at the final intermission 66:51. Croatia managed to cut the deficit in the final frame but Czech Republic hung on to snatch the win at the end. Tereza Peckova (189-F-87) provided 13 points, while Katerina Elhotova (180-SG-89) delivered 10 points for the winners. Sandra Mandir (177-G-77) chipped in 13 points for Croatia. Marija Vrsaljko (195-C-89) had 11 points in the loss.

Katarina Matijevic joins ZKK Kvarner - 2 days ago

ZKK Kvarner (A1) agreed terms with 21-year old Croatian forward Katarina Matijevic (184-95). She has played for the last two seasons at UBI Graz in Austrian ASWBL. She helped them to make it to the Austrian Cup Semifinals.
Matijevic's team made it to the AWBL Semifinals in 2015.
She represented Croatia at the European Championships U18 in Croatia three years ago

Former Croatian national team member Gordana Bedalov(191-C-84, college: FIU) will stay in Italy for antoher one season, after agreeing a one-year contrat with Serie A2 side Libertas Bologna. Bedalov last season spent with Edelweiss Albino, where she averaged 9.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 0.4 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.7 blocks in 18 Seria A2 League games. Matteiplast Bologna (Serie A2) landed 32-year old Croatian center Gordana Bedalov (191-84, college: FIU). It is actually her comeback to Bologna as she has played here before. Bedalov played most recently at Edelweiss Albino in the Serie A2. In 18 games she averaged 9.8ppg and 5.8rpg last season.
