Croatia wins the opener in Ankara at the Olympic Qualifying Tournament. The European team got off with an easy win over Mozambique 84:62 in Group C.
Croatia easily started the game with 27:12 and never looked behind after. They added 15-13 in the second frame to take 42:25 lead at the halftime. Mozambique came back to the court in a better shape and responded with 20-15 in the third period. The team from Africa trailed 12 points after thirty minutes, but could not come closer. Croatia added 27-17 in the last stanza to seal the victory.
Ana Lelas (183-G/F-83) top-scored for the winners with 20 points and Sandra Mandir (177-G-77) netted 16. Jelena Ivezic (182-F/G-84) delivered 14, while Emanuela Salopek (179-G-87) notched 9. Clarisse Machanguana (194-C-73, agency: Josep and Nicolas, college: ODU) responded with 23 points and 13 rebounds in the losing effort. Anabela Cossa (171-G-86) followed her with 11 and Ana Flavia Joao DE AZINHEIRA had 10.

Tresnjevka 2009 and Medvescak both remained unbeaten in the Croatian Prva liga with wins in Sunday's games of Round 4. Ragusa-Tresnjevka 2009 49-73: Tresnjevka, who never trailed, took their first double digit lead of the game at 17-7. The visiting team went on a 15-5 run early in the second quarter to extend their advantage to 36-21 and later made a 14-0 run spanning halftime to make it 52-26.
