Marko Popovic
Marko Popovic
#1. This week's number one is an international guard Marko Popovic (185-82, college: S.Idaho JC, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Lithuania. He could not help Zalgiris (5-1) in their last game. Despite Popovic's very good performance the first-placed Zalgiris was edged in a double overtime (!!!) 108-106 on the road by the lower-ranked (#5) Cedevita in the group C of Euroleague. He was the second best scorer with 19 points in 31 minutes on the court. It was Zalgiris' first loss after five consecutive victories. There are only four games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Popovic has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 15.2ppg, 1.8rpg, 1.8apg, 2FGP: 47.8% and FT: 84.0% in the six games he played so far. Popovic played for the Croatian senior national team one years ago.
