Here is the weekly review of the top performing Croatian players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is former international guard Marko Popovic (185-82, agency: Alti Sport, college: S.Idaho JC, currently plays in VTB United League). He was the major contributor in Zalgiris' victory against the fourth-ranked Lokomotiv (6-4) 89-81 in the VTB United League in Sunday night's game. Popovic recorded 15 points and added 5 passes in 25 minutes on the court. B.C. Zalgiris Kaunas (9-1) is placed first in group B. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. This year Popovic averages: 8.8ppg, 1.6rpg, 3.1apg, 2FGP: 53.3%, 3FGP: 37.8% and FT: 85.7% in the nine games he played so far. He played for the Croatian senior national team two years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to former international center Ante Tomic (217-87, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Spain. Tomic could not help Regal FC Barcelona (1-1) in their last game on Thursday. Despite his very good performance the fourth-placed Regal FC Barcelona was defeated 78-65 on the road by the leading Khimky in the group F of Euroleague. Tomic was the top scorer with 16 points. He also added 5 rebounds. It's Tomic's first season with the team. Tomic is ranked third on the list of the best blockers in the league. His overall stats this season are: 9.5ppg, 5.7rpg, 1.8apg, 1.6bpg, 2FGP: 61.3%(49-80) and FT: 53.3%. Tomic played for the Croatian national team in 2011.

   #3. The Croatian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international point guard Dontaye Draper (180-84, college: Charleston, currently plays in Spain). He contributed to a Real Madrid's victory against the 11th-ranked FIATC Joventut (7-9) 88-77 in the Spanish ACB on Sunday night. Draper recorded 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 20 minutes. Real Madrid (15-1) is placed first in the ACB. This year Draper's overall stats are: 4.3ppg, 1.8apg, 2FGP: 53.8%, 3FGP: 38.5% and FT: 73.3% in the 16 games. He is a naturalized American. Draper played for the Croatian national team two years ago. He used to play for Cedevita Zagreb in Croatian league.

Point guard Roko-Leni Ukic (196-84, currently plays in Greece) led Panathinaikos to an easy victory against the seventh-ranked Apollon Patras (5-6) crushing them 91-60 in the Greek A1 in Sunday night's game. Ukic scored 13 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists. Panathinaikos Athens (10-1) is placed first in the A1. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. Ukic's total stats this season are: 8.8ppg, 1.3rpg and 2.4apg. He is also Croatian national team player.

   #5. International center Luka Zoric (211-84, currently plays in Spain), who plays in the Spanish ACB was not able to help Unicaja Malaga (8-8) in their last game. Despite Zoric's very good performance Unicaja Malaga lost 63-70 in Las Palmas to the higher-ranked (#4) G.Canaria 2014. He was the top scorer with 16 points. Zoric also added 2 shots in 21 minutes. Zoric has relatively good stats this year: 10.3ppg, 4.4rpg and 1.1bpg in the 16 games. He plays currently for the Croatian national team.

   #6. Center Darko Planinic (211-90, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Israel was not able to secure a victory for Maccabi T-A (0-2) in their last game on Thursday. Despite Planinic's good performance Maccabi T-A (#8) was edged 71-70 at home by the higher-ranked Caja Laboral (#3) in the group F of Euroleague. He was the second best scorer with 11 points. Planinic also added 2 shots. This season Planinic averages only 6.0ppg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Croatian National Team roster.

   #7. Former U20 international center Leon Radosevic (206-90, currently plays in VTB United League), who plays in Lithuania couldn't help Lietuvos rytas (5-5) in their last game. Despite Radosevic's good performance Lietuvos rytas (#6) was badly defeated 83-63 on their home court in Vilnius by the second-ranked Spartak St.Petersburg in the group A of VTB United League. He was the second best scorer with 13 points. Radosevic also added 5 rebounds in 31 minutes. This year Radosevic has relatively solid stats: 10.1ppg and 4.9rpg in the 10 games. He used to play for the Croatian U20 national team three years ago.

   #8. Swingman Krunoslav Simon (197-85, agency: Beo Basket, currently plays in Euroleague) is a teammate of previously mentioned Luka Zoric. But that was another game of his team in Euroleague which we would like to mention. Simon couldn't help Unicaja Malaga (1-1) in their game against Zalgiris (1-1). He scored 7 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished 4 assists. Unicaja Malaga (#4) was defeated 75-63 in Kaunas by the higher-ranked Zalgiris (#3) in the group E of Euroleague. Simon's total stats this season are: 9.8ppg, 3.5rpg and 2.6apg. He plays currently for the Croatian national team.

Former international point guard Jakov Vladovic (187-83, currently plays in Adriatic League) led his Slovenian team Krka to a 2-point victory against the closely-ranked KK Zadar (6-10) 67-65 in the Adriatic League on Sunday night. Vladovic recorded 13 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals in 31 minutes. Krka Novo Mesto (6-10) is placed tenth in the Adriatic League. They ended the series of five consecutive loses. Vladovic is currently third on the list of best passers with 4.2apg. This year his other stats are: 8.1ppg, 3.8rpg and 1.3spg in the 16 games. Vladovic used to play for the Croatian national team four years ago.

Forward Kresimir Loncar (210-83, also represented by Alti Sport, currently plays in VTB United League) couldn't help Khimky (7-3) in their game against BC Astana (5-4) in the VTB United League. He recorded 8 points. Khimky (#4) was defeated 92-77 in Astana by the lower-ranked BC Astana (#5) in the group A of VTB United League. Loncar's total stats this season are: 8.2ppg and 2.3rpg. He is a former international player as three years ago he still played for the Croatian senior national team.

   #11. Former international guard Zoran Vrkic (200-87, currently plays in Greece), who plays in the Greek A1 couldn't help Ikaros (5-6) in their last game. Despite Vrkic's very good performance Ikaros was edged 66-64 in Athens by the one of league's weakest teams (#13) Ilysiakos. He was the top scorer with 19 points. Vrkic also added 8 rebounds in 33 minutes. Vrkic is currently seventh on the league's list of best rebounders with 6.6rpg. This year he also averages: 12.6ppg and 1.4apg in the eight games. Vrkic used to play for the Croatian national team two years ago.

   #12. International forward Damjan Rudez (208-86, currently plays in Spain) helped CAI Zaragoza win their game against the 16th-ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada 79-74 in the Spanish ACB on Saturday night. He recorded 9 points, 3 assists and 3 steals. Rudez has reliable stats this season: 11.3ppg, 1.9rpg and 1.1apg. He is also in the roster of the Croatian national team.

   #13. Former international power forward Mario Delas (207-90, currently plays in VTB United League) is a teammate of previously mentioned Marko Popovic and both played together in the last VTB United League game. Delas managed to help B.C. Zalgiris Kaunas in a victory against the fourth-ranked Lokomotiv 89-81. He recorded 5 points in 10 minutes. This year Delas' total stats are: 6.4ppg and 3.7rpg in the nine games. He used to play for the Croatian national team four years ago.

   #14. An experienced former international swingman Mario Stojic (198-80, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Belgium) led Base Oostende to a victory against one of league's weakest teams Leuven Bears 84-73 in the Belgian Ethias League last Saturday. Stojic scored 12 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. He averaged so far 12.7ppg, 3.1rpg and 1.5apg. Stojic used to play for the Croatian national team back in 2009.

   #15. Former U20 international center Jure Lalic (210-86, currently plays in Adriatic League) is a teammate of previously mentioned Jakov Vladovic and both played together in the last Adriatic League game. Lalic helped his Slovenian team Krka edge the closely-ranked KK Zadar 67-65. He recorded 11 points in 21 minutes. Lalic's stats this year are: 10.4ppg and 3.9rpg in the 16 games. He used to play for the Croatian U20 national team seven years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Croatian passport but never been selected to any of Croatian national teams:

   #1. Anthony Drmic (198-G/F-92, currently plays college basketball in the States) led Boise St. to an easy victory against the Walla Walla College (6-10) crushing them 106-39 in the NCAA in Saturday night's game. Drmic scored 22 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in a mere 19 minutes. The Boise State University has conference record this season. Drmic averaged so far 10.4ppg and 3.9rpg in the 16 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Croatian and Australian.

   #2. Kristijan Krajina (206-F-90, currently studies in the States) led Mt.St.Mary's to a victory against the Monmouth University (0-2) 71-59 in the NCAA last Saturday. Krajina scored 15 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 25 minutes. The Mt.Saint Mary's University, MD has 1-1 conference record this season. Krajina is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Mt.St.Mary's' roster. He averaged so far 10.4ppg and 3.9rpg in the 16 games.

   #3. Experienced Igor Milicic (194-G-76, agency: Alti Sport, currently plays in Poland) contributed to an AZS Koszalin's victory against one of league's weakest teams Start Gdynia (4-11) 68-63 in the Polish TBL on Sunday night. Milicic scored 8 points. AZS Koszalin (9-6) is placed fifth in the TBL. It was his team's first victory after three consecutive loses. Milicic has been at the team for five years. He has averaged so far 2.7ppg and 3.3apg. Milicic is another player who holds two passports: Croatian and Polish.

   #4. Milan Stegnjaic (204-F/C-81, currently plays in Austria), who plays in the Austrian A Bundesliga could not help UBSC Graz (6-9) in their last game. Despite his very good performance UBSC Graz was edged 77-76 at home by the higher-ranked (#5) Gussing Knights. Stegnjaic had a double-double by scoring 21 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added 3 assists (made all of his six free throws) in 37 minutes. Stegnjaic has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 16.7ppg, 7.1rpg and 1.1apg in the 15 games.

   #5. Ljubisa Vrcelj (210-C-84, college: Jacksonville, currently plays in Bulgaria), who plays in the Bulgarian NBL was not able to help Euroins Cherno More (5-1) in their last game on Sunday. Sasa Jankovic (204-F-84, currently plays in Slovakia) was the major contributor in a SKP Banska Bystrica's victory against one of league's weakest teams Handlova 90-84 in the Slovakian Extraliga in Saturday night's game. Jankovic scored 14 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 25 minutes. Jankovic averaged so far 11.7ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.5apg in the 15 games.

   #7. Marco Buljevic (197-G-87, agency: Court Side, currently plays in Germany) contributed to a ETB Wohnbau's surprising victory against the fourth-ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg 78-75 in the German ProA (second division) in Sunday night's game. He recorded 10 points and added 4 passes. Buljevic has averaged so far 9.8ppg, 1.9rpg, 1.9apg and 1.1spg. He also holds two passports: Croatian and German. Despite Buljevic's Croatian nationality, he previously played for the German U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Croatian team.

   #8. Ozren Pavlovic (203-F, is currently at the American university) managed to help University of Hawaii in a victory against the University of California, Riverside 76-61 in the NCAA last Saturday. Pavlovic scored 5 points in 18 minutes. Pavlovic has averaged so far 9.8ppg, 1.9rpg, 1.9apg and 1.1spg in the 16 games.

   #9. Marin Petric (190-G-80, currently plays in Germany) was not able to secure a victory for Duesseldorf Baskets in their game against SC Rasta Vechta in the German ProA (second division). He cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. Petric recorded only 3 points and added 4 passes in 24 minutes. His team was badly defeated by 20 points 99-79. Petric averaged so far 10.5ppg, 3.0rpg and 2.2apg in the 16 games. He has dual citizenship: Croatian and German.

   #10. Ivan Jurkovic (213-C-90, currently plays college basketball in the States) helped FIU win their game against the Florida A&M University 88-72 in the NCAA on Wednesday night. Jurkovic scored 7 points in only 11 minutes. Jurkovic averaged so far 10.5ppg, 3.0rpg and 2.2apg in the 16 games.
