Round 10 in A1 means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Sibenik where host Jolly (7-3) beat league's leader Kvarner 2010 (8-2) 80-73 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Kvarner 2010. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-73. Jolly dominated on the defensive end, holding Kvarner 2010 to just 5 points in second quarter. American guard Ronald Ross (188-83, college: Texas Tech) fired 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Guard Luka Petkovic (190-88) chipped in 18 points and 6 assists. Forward Dino Cinac (198-88) produced 20 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Jolly have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 7-3 record behind leader KK Zagreb. Kvarner 2010 at the other side still keeps top place with two games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by KK Zagreb who have the same record. Kvarner 2010 will play next round against league's leader KK Zagreb trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Jolly will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Vrijednosnice OS in Darda.
Another exciting game was between seventh ranked Djuro Djakovic and 6th ranked KK Zabok where Djuro Djakovic (5-5) beat KK Zabok (4-6) on the road 78-70. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Hrvoje Puljko (193-83) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 6 rebounds. Marko Batina contributed with 24 points for the winners. Serbian forward Petar Maric (196-87, college: Lincoln Trail CC) replied with 17 points for KK Zabok. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Djuro Djakovic moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Darda. KK Zabok at the other side dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Krizevci. Djuro Djakovic will play against Osjecki Sokol (#9) in Osijek in the next round. KK Zabok will play on the road against Alkar Sinj and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Nikola Gaurina scored 15 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. At the losing side Patrick Rembert responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Alkar Sinj have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 6-4 record. Loser Krizevci dropped to the seventh place with six games lost. They share the position with Zabok. Alkar Sinj will meet at home KK Zabok (#8) in the next round. Krizevci will play against KK Dubrovnik and hope to secure a win.

In the last two games of round 10 KK Zagreb defeated Dubrovnik in a road game 86-80. Osjecki Sokol was beaten by Darda at home 69-80.
The best stats of 10th round was 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds by Ante Krapic of KK Zagreb.


Dubrovnik - KK Zagreb 80-86

There was no surprise when 10th ranked KK Dubrovnik (1-9) was defeated at home by second ranked KK Zagreb (8-2) 86-80 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 12 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 6 points. KK Zagreb made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. Forward Ante Krapic (205-85) scored 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and international Marko Car (188-85) chipped in 23 points and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side guard Ivan Mikulic (191-91) responded with 30 points and 4 assists and swingman Dino Jakolis (200-91, college: Valparaiso) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. KK Zagreb keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Kvarner 2010. KK Dubrovnik lost sixth consecutive game. Loser KK Dubrovnik stay at the bottom place with nine games lost. KK Zagreb will meet league's second-placed Kvarner 2010 in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. KK Dubrovnik will play against Krizevci (#7).

Osjecki Sokol - Darda 69-80

No shocking result in a game in Osijek where sixth ranked Vrijednosnice OS (5-5) defeated 9th ranked Osjecki Sokol (2-8) 80-69 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Vrijednosnice OS. Osjecki Sokol managed to win fourth quarter 28-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vrijednosnice OS moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Djuro Djakovic. Osjecki Sokol lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. Vrijednosnice OS will meet at home higher ranked Jolly (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Osjecki Sokol will play against Djuro Djakovic (#6) in Slavonski Brod and hope to secure a win.

The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 14-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-61. Alkar Sinj dominated on the defensive end, holding Krizevci to just 4 points in second quarter. They made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Alkar Sinj shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Guard Nikola Gaurina (199-83, agency: Interperformances) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Antonio Bilic (190-86) chipped in 11 points during the contest. Swingman Marko Batina (198-86) contributed with 24 points for the winners.
