Here is the weekly review of the top performing Croatian players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is former international power forward Tomislav Zubcic (208-90, agency: Beo Basket, currently plays in Lithuania). He led Lietuvos rytas to a victory over the league outsider Naglis Palangos (0-13) crushing them 87-52 in the Lithuanian LKL in Monday night's game. Zubcic was MVP of the game. He scored 31 points (!!!) and grabbed 9 rebounds in 22 minutes on the court. It was his first game for Lietuvos rytas this season. His team is placed eighth in the LKL. Zubcic played for the Croatian senior national team four years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to an international point guard Roko-Leni Ukic (196-84, currently plays in Greece). He was the main contributor in Panathinaikos' victory against the seventh-ranked Aris (6-8) 81-62 in the Greek A1 last Monday. Ukic was the best player in that game. He scored 12 points and added 3 passes. Panathinaikos Athens (13-1) is placed first in the A1. It was his team's eighth consecutive victory in a row. It's Ukic's first season with the team. This year Ukic averages: 8.5ppg, 1.5rpg, 2.4apg, 2FGP: 46.0%, 3FGP: 39.3% and FT: 75.0%. He is in the roster of the Croatian senior national team.

   #3. The Croatian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international center Ante Tomic (217-87, currently plays in Euroleague). Tomic contributed to a Regal FC Barcelona's victory against the closely-ranked Caja Laboral (4-1) 90-79 in the Euroleague on Thursday night. He scored 11 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 23 minutes. Regal FC Barcelona (4-1) is placed second in group F. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Tomic is ranked second on the list of the best blockers in the league with 1.5bpg. This year his other stats are: 10.3ppg, 5.9rpg, 1.6apg, 2FGP: 62.0%(67-108) and FT: 55.3% in the 15 games he played so far. Tomic played for the Croatian national team two years ago.

Swingman Krunoslav Simon (197-85, also represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Euroleague) was the major contributor in an Unicaja Malaga's victory against the second-ranked CSKA Moscow (4-1) 94-81 in the Euroleague in Friday night's game. He scored 14 points and added 5 assists. Unicaja Malaga (2-3) is placed fifth in group E. They ended the series of three consecutive loses. Simon has relatively good stats this season: 10.6ppg, 3.4rpg and 2.6apg. He is also Croatian national team player.

   #5. Former international forward Kresimir Loncar (210-83, agency: Alti Sport, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Russia could not help Khimky (3-2) in their last game. Despite Loncar's good performance the fourth-placed Khimky was edged 85-82 on the road by the lower-ranked (#7) Fenerbahce Ulker in the group F of Euroleague. He scored 10 points in 16 minutes. This year Loncar's overall stats are: 8.3ppg and 3.8rpg in the 15 games. He used to play for the Croatian national team three years ago.

Point guard Dontaye Draper (180-84, college: Charleston, currently plays in Euroleague) managed to help Real Madrid to win against the fourth-ranked Panathinaikos (3-2) 58-54 in the Euroleague on Friday night. Draper scored only 4 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Real Madrid (5-0) is placed first in group E. So far his team won all five games in the Top 16. Draper's total stats this season are: 2.9ppg, 1.6rpg, 1.5apg and 1.2spg. He is a naturalized American. Draper is a former international player as he played for the Croatian senior team two years ago. He used to play for Cedevita Zagreb in Croatian league.

International forward Damjan Rudez (208-86, currently plays in Spain) helped CAI Zaragoza win their game against the 14th-ranked CB Canarias (7-12) 81-67 in the Spanish ACB in Sunday night's game. Rudez recorded 15 points in 22 minutes. CAI Zaragoza (11-8) is placed seventh in the ACB. This year Rudez has relatively solid stats: 11.3ppg, 1.9rpg and 1.2apg in the 19 games. He is also Croatian national team player.

   #8. Center Luka Zoric (211-84, currently plays in Euroleague) is a teammate of previously mentioned Krunoslav Simon and both played together in the last Euroleague game. Zoric helped his Spanish team Unicaja Malaga win their game against the second-ranked CSKA Moscow (4-1) 94-81. He scored 12 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Zoric has reliable stats this season: 10.5ppg and 4.4rpg. He plays currently for the Croatian national team.

International point guard Rok Stipcevic (185-86, currently plays in Italy) helped VL Pesaro win their game against the league outsider Angelico Biella (3-14) 89-76 in the Italian SerieA on Sunday night. Stipcevic was the top player that evening. He scored 25 points and had 6 steals in 34 minutes. Victoria Libertas Pesaro (4-13) is placed 14th in the SerieA. Stipcevic has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 18.3ppg, 2.3rpg, 2.0apg and 2.0spg in the four games. Stipcevic is also in the roster of the Croatian national team.

   #10. Guard Marko Popovic (185-82, college: S.Idaho JC, currently plays in Euroleague) was not able to help Zalgiris (1-4) in their game against Anadolu Efes (4-1) in the Euroleague. He scored 7 points and added 3 assists. Zalgiris (#6) was defeated 56-52 in Istanbul by the higher-ranked Anadolu Efes (#3) in the group E of Euroleague. It was Zalgiris' third consecutive loss in a row. Popovic averaged so far 13.4ppg, 1.4rpg and 1.8apg. He is a former international player as two years ago he still played for the Croatian senior national team.

   #11. Former international power forward Mario Delas (207-90, currently plays in Lithuania) is a teammate of previously mentioned Marko Popovic. But that was another game of his team in Lithuanian LKL which we would like to mention. Delas helped Zalgiris win their game against the ninth-ranked Lietkabelis crushing them 113-61. He scored 7 points in 17 minutes. This year Delas' total stats are: 8.0ppg, 4.6rpg and 2.0apg in the seven games. He used to play for the Croatian national team four years ago.

   #12. International center Darko Planinic (211-90, currently plays in Euroleague) was not able to secure a victory for Maccabi T-A in their game against Olympiacos in the Euroleague. He scored 7 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in only 9 minutes. His team was edged 78-77. Planinic has averaged so far 5.0ppg and 2.2rpg in the five games. He is also in the roster of the Croatian national team.

   #13. Former U20 international center Jure Lalic (210-86, currently plays in Adriatic League), who plays in Slovenia couldn't help Krka (8-11) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Lalic's good performance Krka was defeated 74-66 in Podgorica by the higher-ranked Buducnost (#5). He recorded 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks. Lalic averaged so far 10.1ppg and 4.0rpg. He used to play for the Croatian U20 national team seven years ago.

   #14. Former U20 international center Leon Radosevic (206-90, currently plays in Italy) helped Armani Milano win their game against the 11th-ranked SAIE3 BO crushing them 91-68 in the Italian SerieA on Sunday night. Radosevic scored 8 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and made 2 blocks in only 14 minutes. Radosevic has averaged so far 6.0ppg and 3.0rpg in the two games. He used to play for the Croatian U20 national team back in 2010.

   #15. An experienced former international power forward Tomislav Ruzic (207-79, currently plays in Turkey), who plays in the Turkish TBL couldn't help Tofas (6-10) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Ruzic's good performance Tofas was defeated 93-80 at home by the higher-ranked TED Kolejliler (#7). He recorded 12 points. Ruzic has averaged so far 7.9ppg and 3.4rpg. He used to play for the Croatian national team thirteen years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Croatian passport but never been selected to any of Croatian national teams:

   #1. Igor Maric (196-F-85, currently plays in Slovenia) was the major contributor in a Maribor Messer's victory against the seventh-ranked LTHcast Mercator (5-8) 84-73 in the Slovenian Telemach League on Saturday night. Maric recorded 17 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. KK Maribor Messer (10-3) is placed third in the Telemach League. Maric averaged so far 13.1ppg, 4.7rpg and 1.5apg.

   #2. Anthony Drmic (198-G/F-92, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA could not help the one of league's weakest teams Boise St. (2-3) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Drmic's very good performance the Boise St. was badly defeated 75-59 on the road by the The University of Nevada. He scored 23 points and grabbed 7 rebounds (was perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line). Drmic has averaged so far 7.9ppg and 3.4rpg. He has a dual citizenship: Croatian and Australian.

   #3. Mladen Primorac (210-C-90, currently plays in Slovenia) contributed to Tajfun's victory against the eighth-ranked Geoplin Slovan (4-9) 76-66 in the Slovenian Telemach League on Saturday night. Primorac recorded 9 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. KK Tajfun Sentjur (8-5) is placed fourth in the Telemach League. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. Primorac averaged so far 12.7ppg and 6.8rpg.

   #4. Pankracije Barac (196-G-81, agency: Court Side, currently plays in Romania), who plays in the Romanian Liga Nationala was not able to help one of league's weakest teams one of league's weakest teams Pitesti (8-11) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Pitesti lost 73-79 at home to the higher-ranked (#10) CSU Sibiu. Barac was the top scorer with 19 points. He also added 7 assists in 37 minutes. Barac is ranked fourth on the list of the top scorers in the league with 17.5ppg. He also averaged so far 3.4rpg, 3.9apg and 1.8spg in the 19 games he played so far.

   #5. Experienced Igor Milicic (194-G-76, agency: Alti Sport, currently plays in Poland) was not able to secure a victory for AZS Koszalin (9-9) in their game against Stelmet ZG (13-5) in the Polish TBL. Milicic scored 9 points and added 4 passes in 25 minutes. But AZS Koszalin lost in an overtime 80-85 on their home court in Koszalin to the second-ranked Stelmet ZG. It was AZS Koszalin's third consecutive loss in a row. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Milicic has been at the team for five years. He has averaged so far 3.8ppg, 1.2rpg and 3.3apg in the six games. Milicic is another player who holds two passports: Croatian and Polish.

   #6. Marco Buljevic (197-G-87, also represented by Court Side, currently plays in Germany), who plays in the German ProA (second division) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams ETB Wohnbau (8-11) in their last game. Despite his very good performance ETB Wohnbau was badly defeated 91-72 in Nurnberg by the higher-ranked (#10) NBC. Buljevic was the top scorer with 16 points. He also added 3 assists in 37 minutes. Buljevic has averaged so far 9.7ppg, 1.8rpg, 1.9apg and 1.1spg in the 19 games. He has both Croatian and German nationalities. Despite Buljevic's Croatian passport, he previously played for the German U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Croatian team.

   #7. Ljubisa Vrcelj (210-C-84, college: Jacksonville, currently plays in Bulgaria) contributed to a 3-point Euroins Cherno More's victory against one of league's weakest teams Spartak Pleven 82-79 in the Bulgarian NBL in Saturday night's game. Vrcelj scored 8 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 24 minutes. His stats this year are: 12.2ppg and 8.6rpg in the five games. Vrcelj also holds two passports: Croatian and Canadian.

   #8. Stipe Modric (206-F-79, currently plays in Slovenia) faced previously mentioned Mladen Primorac in the Slovenian Telemach League last game. Modric couldn't help Geoplin Slovan in their game against Tajfun. He recorded 7 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. His team was defeated 76-66. Modric has averaged so far 5.0ppg, 4.2rpg, 1.6apg and 1.4spg. He has Croatian and Slovenian nationalities.

   #9. Sasa Jankovic (204-F-84, currently plays in Slovakia), who plays in the Slovakian Extraliga couldn't help SKP Banska Bystrica (10-13) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Jankovic's very good performance SKP Banska Bystrica was crushed 102-81 on the opponent's court by the higher-ranked Prievidza (#5). He was the top scorer with 17 points. Jankovic averaged so far 10.9ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.3apg.

   #10. Antonio Kalpic (206-F-89, currently studies in the States) managed to help Campbell University in a victory against the Radford University 69-60 in the NCAA on Wednesday night. He scored only 4 points and blocked 2 shots in 10 minutes. Kalpic's stats this year are: 10.9ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.3apg in the 19 games.

Argentina - Croatia 97:78 Argentina ensured the winning start to Super 4 friendly tournament in Cordoba. They beat Croatia as Andres Nocioni (202-SF-79) scored 19 points. Jolly Jadranska Banka Sibenik (A1) added to their roster 24-year old small forward Bruno Markulin (195-92) from KK Split. Markulin has played there for the last six years. In 32 A1 games he recorded 6.7ppg and 2.3rpg last season.
