There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with change at the leadership position, extra overtimes, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

There was a change at the A1 leadership position after last games. Round 13 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Kvarner 2010 (10-3). They were edged by seventh ranked Vrijednosnice OS (6-7) 63-62 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kvarner 2010. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 21-12. But Kvarner 2010 won third quarter 16-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vrijednosnice OS made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. Power forward Dejan Meznaric (205-87) stepped up and scored 14 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners and guard Josip Glavinic (192-82) chipped in 10 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side power forward Jure Skific (202-88) responded with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Vrijednosnice OS moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Zabok. Kvarner 2010 at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by KK Zagreb who have the same record. Kvarner 2010 will play next round against Djuro Djakovic trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Vrijednosnice OS will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked KK Dubrovnik on the road.

The most impressive stats of the last round was 28 points and 7 rebounds by Mate Mrva of Jolly.

Alkar Sinj - Jolly 100-76

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Alkar Sinj and 3rd placed Jolly had identical 8-4 record. This time Alkar Sinj used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Sibenik 100-76 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Alkar Sinj. Jolly was better in fourth quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Alkar Sinj shot 60.3 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Alkar Sinj especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. Jolly was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Domagoj Kanaet (197-93) stepped up and scored 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners and forward Luka Zitko (201-81) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists. Krizevci - Osjecki Sokol 73-75

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when ninth ranked Osjecki Sokol (3-10) edged on the road 8th ranked Krizevci (5-8) 75-73 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-73. Osjecki Sokol dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Krizevci's 36. Osjecki Sokol forced 20 Krizevci turnovers. Strangely Krizevci outrebounded Osjecki Sokol 34-18 including a 25-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Bosnian forward Dino Rados (-91) stepped up and scored 18 points for the winners and guard Aljosa Sarac (190-89) chipped in 15 points and 5 assists. At the losing side American point guard Patrick Rembert (185-89, college: Cal-Irvine) responded with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and center Ivan Cvjetkovic (205-85) scored 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Krizevci's coach Luka Bujas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Osjecki Sokol maintains ninth place with 3-10 record. Loser Krizevci keeps the eighth position with eight games lost. Osjecki Sokol will face higher ranked KK Zabok (#6) in Zabok in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.

Zabok - Dubrovnik 86-61

Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked KK Dubrovnik (1-12) was rolled over on the road by sixth ranked KK Zabok (6-7) 86-61 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by KK Zabok. KK Dubrovnik was better in third quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. KK Zabok dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to KK Dubrovnik's 32. KK Zabok looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Serbian forward Petar Maric (196-87, college: Lincoln Trail CC) stepped up and scored 21 points (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) for the winners and center Antonio Vlaic (204-91) chipped in 15 points. At the losing side guard Ivan Mikulic (191-91) responded with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Filip Najev (205-92) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. KK Zabok maintains sixth place with 6-7 record, which they share with Darda. KK Dubrovnik lost ninth consecutive game. Loser KK Dubrovnik stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. KK Zabok will face Osjecki Sokol (#9) in Osijek in the next round. KK Dubrovnik will play at home against Vrijednosnice OS in Darda.
