We bring you last week's top performances from Croatians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is former international center Ante Tomic (217-87, currently plays in Spain). He led Regal FC Barcelona to a victory over the 12th-ranked UCAM Murcia (10-12) 79-62 in the Spanish ACB in Sunday night's game. Tomic was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 12 rebounds in 30 minutes on the court. Regal FC Barcelona (14-8) is placed third in the ACB. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. It's Tomic's first season with the team. Tomic belongs to league's best rebounders and is ranked #3 with 6.8rpg. He also averaged so far 12.9ppg, 1.2apg, 2FGP: 63.0%(121-192) and FT: 71.2% in the 22 games he played so far. Tomic played for the Croatian senior national team two years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to an international point guard Roko-Leni Ukic (196-84, currently plays in Euroleague). He was the main contributor in Panathinaikos' victory against the sixth-ranked Zalgiris (3-5) 78-73 in the Euroleague last Thursday. Ukic was the best player in that game. He scored 21 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 6 assists. Panathinaikos Athens (5-3) is placed fourth in group E. This season Ukic averages: 9.1ppg, 2.2rpg, 2.2apg, 2FGP: 49.4%, 3FGP: 34.1% and FT: 65.8%. He is in the roster of the Croatian senior national team.

   #3. The Croatian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international center Luka Zoric (211-84, currently plays in Euroleague). Zoric contributed to a 3-point Unicaja Malaga's victory against the eighth-ranked Brose Baskets Bamberg (0-8) 68-65 in the Euroleague on Thursday night. He was the top player that evening. Zoric scored 26 points (!!!) and grabbed 5 rebounds in 32 minutes. Unicaja Malaga (4-4) is placed fifth in group E. Zoric has relatively good stats this year: 11.7ppg, 4.5rpg, 2FGP: 55.2%(79-143) and FT: 75.7% in the 18 games. He is also a member of the Croatian senior national team.

Guard Damir Rancic (199-83, currently plays in Slovenia) contributed to Helios' victory against the closely-ranked Maribor Messer (11-5) 82-73 in the Slovenian Telemach League in Saturday night's game. Rancic was the top player that evening. He recorded 26 points (!!!), 4 rebounds and 5 assists. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Helios Domzale (12-4) is placed first in the Telemach League. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This season Rancic has relatively solid stats: 10.8ppg, 2.5rpg and 2.3apg. He used to play for the Croatian national team back in 2009.

   #5. Former international guard Marko Popovic (185-82, college: S.Idaho JC, currently plays in Euroleague) faced previously mentioned Roko-Leni Ukic in the Euroleague last game. Popovic, who plays in Lithuania could not help Zalgiris (3-5) in their last game. Despite his good performance the sixth-placed Zalgiris lost 73-78 at home to the higher-ranked (#4) Panathinaikos in the group E of Euroleague. Popovic scored 10 points and added 3 passes in 25 minutes. Popovic is currently ninth on the list of top scorers with 14.1ppg. This year he also averages: 1.4rpg and 1.9apg in the 18 games. Popovic used to play for the Croatian national team two years ago.

Point guard Rok Stipcevic (185-86, currently plays in Italy) contributed to a VL Pesaro's surprising victory against the third-ranked Montepaschi Siena (14-6) 78-73 in the Italian SerieA on Monday night. He was the top player that evening. Stipcevic recorded 27 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Victoria Libertas Pesaro (5-15) is placed second from the bottom (#15) in the SerieA. Stipcevic has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 17.7ppg, 3.1rpg, 2.7apg and 1.4spg. Stipcevic is an international player who is currently on the senior Croatian National Team roster.

Former international forward Kresimir Loncar (210-83, agency: Alti Sport, currently plays in Euroleague) helped his Russian team Khimky win their game against the eighth-ranked Besiktas (0-8) crushing them 87-56 in the Euroleague last Friday. Loncar scored 10 points. BC Khimky Moscow Region (5-3) is placed fourth in group F. Loncar's overall stats this season are: 8.7ppg and 3.7rpg. He used to play for the Croatian national team three years ago.

   #8. An experienced power forward Tomislav Ruzic (207-79, currently plays in EuroChallenge) helped his Turkish team Tofas win their game against the closely-ranked Norrkoping Dolphins (1-5) 76-70 in the EuroChallenge on Tuesday night. Ruzic was the top player that evening. He scored 19 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 32 minutes. Tofas Bursa (2-4) is placed third in group K. The Top 16 already ended in the EuroChallenge. This year Ruzic's overall stats are: 8.5ppg and 4.5rpg in the 11 games. He used to play for the Croatian national team back in 2000.

   #9. Former international guard Zoran Vrkic (200-87, currently plays in Greece) helped Ikaros win their game against one of league's weakest teams KAOD (5-13) 80-74 in the Greek A1 on Monday night. He was the top player that evening. Vrkic scored 19 points, had 9 rebounds and dished 3 assists. Ikaros Kallitheas (7-11) is placed eighth in the A1. They ended the series of five consecutive loses. Vrkic has reliable stats this season: 11.1ppg, 5.3rpg and 1.6apg. He used to play for the Croatian national team two years ago.

   #10. Center Andrija Stipanovic (209-86, currently plays in Italy) helped Vanoli Cremona edge the closely-ranked Sutor Montegranaro (6-14) 89-87 in the Italian SerieA in Sunday night's game. Stipanovic had a double-double by scoring 16 points and getting 13 rebounds in 34 minutes. Vanoli Cremona (8-12) is placed 11th in the SerieA. Stipanovic is currently second on the list of best rebounders with 8.1rpg. He also averaged so far 9.0ppg and 1.5spg in the 20 games. Stipanovic is a former international player as six years ago he still played for the Croatian senior national team.

   #11. International forward Damjan Rudez (208-86, currently plays in Spain) helped CAI Zaragoza win their game against the closely-ranked Valencia Basket 76-62 in the Spanish ACB last Sunday. He recorded 12 points. Rudez averaged so far 11.1ppg and 1.8rpg. He plays currently for the Croatian national team.

   #12. Former international point guard Jakov Vladovic (187-83, currently plays in Adriatic League) was not able to help Krka in their game against Zvezda in the Adriatic League. Vladovic recorded 8 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 28 minutes. His team lost 52-57. Vladovic is currently third on the list of best passers with 4.3apg. This year his other stats are: 8.0ppg and 4.0rpg in the 22 games. Vladovic used to play for the Croatian national team back in 2009.

   #13. Former international power forward Tomislav Zubcic (208-90, agency: Beo Basket, currently plays in Lithuania) helped Lietuvos rytas win their game against the closely-ranked Juventus crushing them 102-68 in the Lithuanian LKL in Tuesday night's game. He scored 7 points. This season Zubcic has very high stats. He averages: 19.0ppg and 5.5rpg. Zubcic used to play for the Croatian national team four years ago.

   #14. International swingman Krunoslav Simon (197-85, also represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in Spain) is a teammate of previously mentioned Luka Zoric. But that was another game of his team in Spanish ACB which we would like to mention. Simon helped Unicaja Malaga win their game against the 15th-ranked Blancos de Rueda 89-84. He recorded 7 points in 22 minutes. This year Simon's total stats are: 9.2ppg, 3.3rpg and 1.9apg in the 22 games. He plays currently for the Croatian national team.

   #15. Former U18 international center Ivan Krolo (217-83, currently plays in Greece) helped Apollon Patras win their game against the closely-ranked Kolossos 78-66 in the Greek A1 on Saturday night. Krolo scored 12 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. He has averaged so far 4.4ppg and 2.8rpg. Krolo used to play for the Croatian U18 national team thirteen years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Croatian passport but never been selected to any of Croatian national teams:

   #1. Mladen Primorac (210-C-90, currently plays in Slovenia) led Tajfun to a victory over the closely-ranked Zlatorog (12-4) 79-72 in the Slovenian Telemach League in Saturday night's game. He was the top player that evening. Primorac recorded 23 points in 34 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. KK Tajfun Sentjur (11-5) is placed third in the Telemach League. It was his team's eighth consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Primorac belongs to league's best rebounders and is ranked #6 with 6.9rpg. He also averaged so far 13.5ppg in the 16 games he played so far.

   #2. Anthony Drmic (198-G/F-92, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to a Boise St.'s victory against the Fresno State University (3-10) 72-63 in the NCAA in Saturday night's game. Drmic scored 28 points (!!!) and grabbed 5 rebounds. The Boise State University has 6-6 conference record this season. There are only four games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Drmic's total stats this season are: 8.5ppg and 4.5rpg. He has a dual citizenship: Croatian and Australian.

   #3. Igor Maric (196-F-85, currently plays in Slovenia), who plays in the Slovenian Telemach League could not help Maribor Messer (11-5) in their last game. Despite Maric's very good performance Maribor Messer lost 73-82 at home to the leading Helios. He was the top scorer with 18 points. Maric also added 5 rebounds in 32 minutes. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important. Maric has reliable stats this year: 13.4ppg, 5.3rpg, 1.5apg and 1.2spg in the 16 games.

   #4. Experienced Stipe Modric (206-F-79, currently plays in Slovenia) was the major contributor in a Geoplin Slovan's victory against the closely-ranked Elektra (8-8) 91-83 in the Slovenian Telemach League in Saturday night's game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 11 rebounds. Modric also added 3 assists. Geoplin Slovan Ljubljana (6-10) is placed seventh in the Telemach League. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. Modric has averaged so far 8.8ppg, 5.0rpg, 1.8apg and 1.1spg. He is another player who holds two passports: Croatian and Slovenian.

   #5. Barac also added 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 37 minutes. Barac is ranked fourth on the list of the top scorers in the league with 17.3ppg. This year he also averages: 3.4rpg, 3.6apg and 1.7spg in the 23 games.

   #7. Ljubisa Vrcelj (210-C-84, college: Jacksonville, currently plays in Bulgaria), who plays in the Bulgarian NBL was not able to secure a victory for Euroins Cherno More (5-1) in their last game on Friday. Despite Vrcelj's good performance the league leader Euroins Cherno More was defeated 84-71 on the road by the lower-ranked Tundja Yambol (#5). He scored 11 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Vrcelj is ranked sixth on the list of the best rebounders in the league. He has very reliable stats this season: 11.2ppg and 7.5rpg. Vrcelj also holds two passports: Croatian and Canadian.

   #8. Milos Paravinja (212-C/F-79, currently plays in Slovenia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Stipe Modric and both played together in the last Slovenian Telemach League game. Paravinja helped Geoplin Slovan win their game against the closely-ranked Elektra 91-83. He recorded 9 points and added 3 passes in 32 minutes. Paravinja has averaged so far 8.7ppg, 3.0rpg and 1.3apg in the 15 games. He has Croatian and Slovenian nationalities.

   #9. Milan Stegnjaic (204-F/C-81, currently plays in Austria) helped UBSC Graz win their game against one of league's weakest teams St.Polten 79-63 in the Austrian A Bundesliga in Sunday night's game. Stegnjaic scored 17 points, had 7 rebounds and dished 3 assists. He has individually a very good season with high stats. Stegnjaic averages: 15.5ppg, 6.4rpg and 1.2apg.

   #10. Sandi Marcius (206-F-90, currently studies in the States) managed to help Purdue University to win against the Northwestern University crushing them 74-43 in the NCAA last Sunday. He recorded only 4 points and blocked 2 shots. This season Marcius has very high stats. He averages: 15.5ppg, 6.4rpg and 1.2apg.
