The most exciting game of round 17 in the A1 took place in Zabok. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Kvarner 2010 (12-5) to seventh ranked KK Zabok (7-10) 58-57 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. KK Zabok dominated on the defensive end, holding Kvarner 2010 to just 7 points in second quarter. Center Filip Bundovic (203-94) stepped up and scored 11 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and Serbian forward Petar Maric (196-87, college: Lincoln Trail CC) chipped in 9 points. KK Zabok's coach Dragutin Crnjevic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Power forward Jure Skific (202-88) responded with 23 points and 9 rebounds. KK Zabok maintains seventh place with 7-10 record. Kvarner 2010 at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. They share it with Jolly. KK Zabok is looking forward to face higher ranked Vrijednosnice OS (#5) in Darda in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kvarner 2010 will play at home against Osjecki Sokol in Osijek and is hoping to win this game. A1 top team - KK Zagreb (13-4) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat ninth ranked Osjecki Sokol (5-12) in Osijek 91-77. The former international forward Ivan Novacic (201-85) nailed 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and Ante Krapic accounted for 16 points and 5 rebounds. Swingman Veljko Budimir (199-85, agency: Court Side) came up with 24 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals for Osjecki Sokol in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. KK Zagreb maintains first place with 13-4 record. The best player for the winners was Alen Trepalovac who had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field). Borna Kapusta produced 14 points and 7 assists for the hosts. Krizevci's coach Luka Bujas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Vrijednosnice OS moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Djuro Djakovic. Loser Krizevci keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. Vrijednosnice OS will meet at home KK Zabok (#7) in the next round. Krizevci will play against Djuro Djakovic in Slavonski Brod and it may be a tough game between close rivals. Third ranked Jolly (12-5) crushed at home 10th ranked KK Dubrovnik (1-16) by 20 points 97-77, which is the biggest margin this round. Luka Petkovic orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points and 8 rebounds. Jolly's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Jolly have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Kvarner 2010. KK Dubrovnik lost thirteenth consecutive game. KK Dubrovnik at the other side stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Jolly's next round opponent will be league's leader KK Zagreb on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week. In the last game of round 17 Djuro Djakovic lost to Alkar Sinj on the opponent's court 70-75.
The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Djuro Djakovic's (9-8) road loss to fourth ranked Alkar Sinj (11-6) 70-75. #1. This week's number one is former international center Ante Tomic (217-87, agency: XL Basketball Agency, currently plays in Spain). He led Regal FC Barcelona to a victory over the ninth-ranked Unicaja Malaga (18-16) 57-50 in the Spanish ACB in Sunday night's game.
Tomic was MVP of the game. He recorded 11 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists in 28 minutes on the court.
Regal FC Barcelona (23-11) is placed third in the ACB.
It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row.
There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
It's Tomic's first season with the team.
Tomic belongs to league's best rebounders and is ranked #3 with 6.6rpg.
He also averaged so far 11.9ppg, 1.4apg, 2FGP: 61.5%(174-283) and FT: 62.4% in the 34 games he played so far.

Vladovic was the main contributor in Krka's victory against the second-ranked Un.Olimpija (7-3) 81-68 in the Slovenian Telemach League on Monday night.
He was the best player in that game. Vladovic recorded 15 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists in 31 minutes.
It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group Places 1-6. Krka Novo Mesto (9-1) is placed first.
It was his team's ninth consecutive victory in a row.
Vladovic is ranked fifth on the list of the best passers in the league with 4.1apg.

Despite his good performance the second-placed Un.Olimpija was edged 79-77 at home by the leading Krka in the Places 1-6 group.
Bubnic was the second best scorer with 14 points. He also added 4 rebounds in 35 minutes.
This year Bubnic's overall stats are: 6.1ppg and 2.4rpg in the 16 games.
He used to play for the Croatian U20 national team

#6. Point guard Dontaye Draper (180-84, college: Charleston, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams Lagun Aro GBC (8-26) crushing them 100-67 in the Spanish ACB on Sunday night.
Draper recorded 6 points.
Real Madrid (30-4) is placed first in the ACB.
