Gruner Stern Keltern (DBBL) agreed terms with 31-year old Croatian ex-international forward Matea Vrdoljak (183-85, agency: LBM Management). She played recently at Castors Braine in Belgian Division I, but left the team earlier this month. In 7 games she had 6.3ppg and 2.1rpg this season. The last season Vrdoljak was tested by Arras Pays d'Artois Basket Feminin (LFB) in French league. In two games she recorded just 2.5ppg and 6.0rpg. Part of previous (13-14) season she spent at Energa Torun (BLK) in Polish league. In 10 games she recorded 9.3ppg, 3.5rpg, 1.3apg and 2.4spg in 2013-14 season. Vrdoljak also spent pre-season at Spartak Noginsk (PBL) in Russian league earlier that year. In three games she recorded 8.3ppg, 3.7rpg and 1.0apg in 2013-14 season.
The previous (12-13) season she played at ZKK Zagreb (A2) in Croatian league. In 28 games she recorded 11.2ppg, 2.8rpg, 1.4apg and 1.4spg in 2012-13 season. She helped them to win the league title and the cup. Vrdoljak also played 12 games in Euroleague where she recorded 9.3ppg, 3.9rpg, 1.3apg and 1.3spg in 2012-13 season.
In 11-12 season she played at CSM Sportul Studentesc Bucuresti (D3) in Romanian league. In 13 games she recorded very impressive stats: 15.9ppg, 6.4rpg, 2.9apg and 2.2spg in 2011-12 season.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Vrdoljak was voted Eurobasket.com Portuguese League All-Defensive Team back in 2011. She also represented Croatia at the European Championships in France three years ago. Her stats at that event were 4 games: 5.5ppg, 1.8rpg, FGP: 37.5%, 3PT: 40.0%, FT: 66.7%.
Vrdoljak is quite experienced player. She has played also professionally in Bosnia (Celik), Greece (MGS Apollon Kalamarias), Poland (AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski and Tecza Leszno), Romania (Sp.Studentesc), Portugal (Alges and Lombos Quinta) and Croatia (Lupa Promotion).
