Here is the weekly review of the top performing Croatian players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international center Josip Sobin (203-89, agency: Alti Sport, currently plays in Poland). He led Anwil to a 3-point victory over the seventh-ranked MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (10-8) 73-70 in the Polish PLK in Saturday night's game. Sobin was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 28 points and getting 12 rebounds. Sobin also added 3 assists in 34 minutes on the court. Anwil Wloclawek (13-6) is placed third in the PLK. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. It's Sobin's first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year: 10.8ppg, 6.8rpg, 1.9apg, 2FGP: 61.8%(94-152) and FT: 31.6% in 19 games he played so far. Sobin is currently a member of the Croatian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international swingman Krunoslav Simon (197-85, currently plays in Euroleague). He was the major contributor in a Armani Milano's surprising victory against the ninth-ranked Darussafaka (10-11) 89-87 in the Euroleague last Thursday. Simon scored 15 points, had 6 rebounds and dished 4 assists. EA7 Emporio Armani Milano (7-14) is placed second from the bottom (#15) in group A. This season Simon has relatively solid stats: 11.5ppg, 3.7rpg, 3.8apg, 1.1spg, 2FGP: 53.7%, 3FGP: 39.5% and FT: 87.0%. He is in the roster of the Croatian senior national team.

The Croatian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international power forward Ante Zizic (210-97, agency: BeoBasket, currently plays in Euroleague) faced previously mentioned Krunoslav Simon in the Euroleague last game. Zizic. He could not help Darussafaka (10-11) in their last game. Despite Zizic's very good performance the ninth-placed Darussafaka (10-11) was edged 89-87 on the road by the lower-ranked (#15) Armani Milano in the group A of Euroleague. He scored 17 points, had 8 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 24 minutes. It was Darussafaka's third consecutive loss in a row. This year Zizic averages: 9.7ppg, 7.3rpg, 2FGP: 64.3%(27-42) and FT: 87.5% in seven games. Ex-KK Ribola Kastela player is also a member of the Croatian senior national team.

An experienced point guard Marko Popovic (185-82, also represented by Alti Sport, college: S.Idaho JC, currently plays in Spain) led Baloncesto Fuenlabrada to a victory against the fourth-ranked Movil Estudiantes (12-5) 103-97 in a derby game in the Spanish Liga Endesa in Saturday night's game. He scored 23 points. Montakit Fuenlabrada (9-10) is placed ninth in the Liga Endesa. Popovic has reliable stats this season: 11.2ppg, 1.5rpg and 1.9apg. He used to play for the Croatian national team back in 2011.

Former international center Ante Tomic (217-87, agency: XL Basketball Agency, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help FC Barcelona in their game against RETAbet BB (8-10) in the Spanish Liga Endesa. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Croatian National Team roster.

Zubcic also added 5 boards, passed 3 assists and added 4 steals in 28 minutes. It was BC Nizhny Novgorod's fourth consecutive loss in a row. His team will play only one more game in the Eurocup Second Stage. And that game will be critical. This year Zubcic's overall stats are: 8.9ppg, 3.1rpg, 2.4apg and 1.1spg in seven games. He used to play for the Croatian national team two years ago.

International point guard Roko-Leni Ukic (196-84, another player represented by XL Basketball Agency, currently plays in Greece) helped AEK Athens win their game against the 12th-ranked Kymis 71-65 in the Greek A1 last Saturday. He recorded 8 points in 26 minutes. Ukic averaged so far 10.8ppg, 2.9rpg and 3.9apg in 16 games. He plays currently for the Croatian national team.

   #12. Former international center Luksa Andric (208-85, another player represented by BeoBasket, currently plays in Hungary) led Szolnok to a victory over the closely-ranked ZTE KK 86-78 in the Hungarian A Division on Thursday night. Andric was the best player in that game. He recorded 20 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Andric averaged so far 13.8ppg, 6.7rpg and 2.7apg. He used to play for the Croatian national team back in 2014.

   #13. International point guard Dontaye Draper (180-84, college: Charleston, currently plays in Spain) managed to help Real Madrid in a victory against the 14th-ranked UCAM Murcia crushing them 89-61 in the Spanish Liga Endesa in Sunday night's game. Draper scored only 4 points in 18 minutes. This year Draper's total stats are: 3.4ppg and 1.3apg in 15 games. He is a naturalized American. Draper is also Croatian national team player. He used to play for Cedevita Zagreb in Croatian league.

   #14. Former U18 international forward Jure Skific (202-88, agency: 011 Sports, currently plays in Poland) helped Twarde Pierniki win their game against the league leader Stelmet 81-69 in the Polish PLK last Sunday. Skific scored 11 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Skific averaged so far 10.6ppg, 6.6rpg and 1.7apg. He used to play for the Croatian U18 national team back in 2006.

   #15. Former U18 international power forward Stjepan Tesija (206-89, currently plays in Balkan League) helped his Bulgarian team Beroe win their game against the closely-ranked Sutjeska crushing them 104-76 in the Balkan League in Tuesday night's game. He recorded 7 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals. Tesija averaged so far 10.1ppg, 5.3rpg, 1.5apg and 1.1spg. He used to play for the Croatian U18 national team ten years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Croatian passport but never been selected to any of Croatian national teams:

   #1. Igor Maric (196-F-85, currently plays in Slovakia) led Prievidza to a 3-point victory over the closely-ranked Levice (19-9) 87-84 in the Slovakian SBL on Wednesday night. Maric was the top player that evening. He scored 23 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 35 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. BC Prievidza (20-6) is placed third in the SBL. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Maric averaged so far 13.3ppg, 5.5rpg, 2.0apg and 1.4spg in 22 games he played so far.

   #2. Marko Jagodic Kuridza (205-PF-87, currently plays in Belgium) contributed to Oostende's victory against the fifth-ranked Kangoeroes (9-3) 86-75 in the Belgian Euromillions League last Saturday. Jagodic Kuridza scored 8 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Telenet BC Oostende (14-4) is placed first in the Euromillions League. Jagodic Kuridza has averaged so far 7.3ppg, 5.5rpg and 1.2apg. He has a dual citizenship: Serbian and Croatian.

   #3. Veljko Budimir (199-F-85, currently plays in Hungary) led PVSK Pannon to an easy victory against the third-ranked Kormend (11-6) 94-75 in the Hungarian A Division last Wednesday. Budimir recorded 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in 26 minutes. PVSK Pannonpower Pecs (9-8) is placed seventh in the A Division. Budimir plays fourth season for the team. He averaged so far 13.5ppg, 4.5rpg, 2.2apg and 1.3spg in 17 games.

   #4. Mladen Primorac (210-C-90, currently plays in Czech Republic) was the major contributor in an USK Praha's victory against the third-ranked NH Ostrava (6-16) 81-70 in the Czech Republic NBL last Saturday. Primorac recorded 15 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group Places 1-6. USK Praha (18-0) is placed first. So far his team won all eighteen games in the Regular Season. Primorac has averaged so far 9.1ppg, 5.6rpg and 1.7apg.

   #5. Experienced Milan Stegnjaic (204-F/C-81, currently plays in Austria) could not help one of league's weakest teams Kapfenberg Bulls (11-9) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Kapfenberg Bulls lost 81-92 on the road to the second-ranked Gmunden Swans. Stegnjaic was the top scorer with 22 points in a mere 18 minutes. It was Kapfenberg Bulls' first loss after five consecutive victories. Stegnjaic averaged so far 10.8ppg, 5.4rpg and 1.2apg in 19 games. He is another player who holds two passports: Croatian and Austrian.

   #6. Dino Cinac (201-F-88, currently plays in Sweden) was not able to help KFUM Jamtland (10-11) in their last game on Friday. Despite Cinac's very good performance KFUM Jamtland was defeated 81-75 in Sodertalje by the higher-ranked Kings (#3). He was the top scorer with 22 points. Cinac also added 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Cinac has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 18.5ppg, 6.5rpg, 1.2apg and 1.3spg.

   #7. Toni Bizaca (202-F-82, agency: XL Basketball Agency, currently plays in Sweden) faced previously mentioned Dino Cinac in the Swedish Basketligan last game. Bizaca led Sodertalje Kings to a victory over the seventh-ranked KFUM Jamtland 81-75. He was the top player that evening. Bizaca recorded 18 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals (made all of his five free throws). This season Bizaca has very high stats. He averages: 18.7ppg, 5.2rpg and 1.8apg.

   #8. Marijan Cakarun (204-C-90, currently plays in Spain) was not able to secure a victory for La ICL Manresa (3-16) in their last game. Despite Cakarun's good performance the bottom-ranked La ICL Manresa lost 75-89 in Santoago de Comp to the higher-ranked (#15) Blusens Monbus. He scored 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 22 minutes. Cakarun has averaged so far 7.1ppg and 4.3rpg in 19 games.

   #9. Anthony Drmic (198-G/F-92, college: Boise St., currently plays in Australia) couldn't help Adelaide 36ers in their game against New Zealand Breakers in the Australian NBL. He scored 9 points. His team were edged 88-87. Drmic has averaged so far 5.4ppg and 3.4rpg. He has both Croatian and Australian nationalities.

   #10. Matija Ceskovic (192-G-81, currently plays in Balkan League) couldn't help Feni Industries (1-3) in their last game. Despite Ceskovic's good performance Feni Industries was edged 85-84 at home by the higher-ranked (#5) Beroe. He scored 13 points and added 4 passes in 30 minutes. Ceskovic averaged so far 11.6ppg and 1.8apg in 12 games.

Cedevita, Zabok both uses big run to beat Alkar and Osijek - 2 days ago
Cedevita used a huge 25-3 run spanning the first and second quarter to take control of the contest with Alkar in HT Premijer Liga Round 2. Zabok went on a 13-0 run late in the second quarter to beat Vrijednosnice Osijek. Vrijednosnice Osijek-Zabok 65-85: Zabok went on a 13-0 run to go up 43-36 late in the second quarter, their first lead since 22-21, and never looked back for the rest of the game.
