We bring you last week's top performances from Croatians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an experienced international swingman Jelena Ivezic (182-84, currently plays in Italy). She led San Martino to a victory over the tenth-ranked Broni (5-14) crushing them 71-41 in the Italian Serie A1 in Sunday night's game. Ivezic was MVP of the game. She recorded 22 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 33 minutes on the court. Fila San Martino Di Lupari (14-5) is placed fourth in the Serie A1. It was her team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Ivezic has individually a very good year with high stats. She averages: 18.3ppg, 6.0rpg, 3.3spg in four games she played so far. Ivezic is currently a member of the Croatian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to former international forward Mirna Mazic (188-85, agency: 1x1 Sports, college: Richmond, currently plays in EuroCup). She contributed to an easy victory against the third-ranked Lattes Montpellier crushing them 85-65 in the Eurocup last Tuesday. Mazic recorded 10 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Abdullah Gul University Kayseri (6-0) is placed first in group B. So far her team won all six games in the Quarter-Finals. Mazic's overall stats this season are: 7.9ppg, 5.2rpg, 2FGP: 56.5%(26-46), 3FGP: 45.5% and FT: 74.1%. She played for the Croatian national team in 2015.

   #3. The Croatian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international shooting guard Ivana Dojkic (180-97, currently plays in Russia). Dojkic was the main contributor in a Spartak Vidnoye's victory against one of league's weakest teams Kazanochka (6-14) 69-65 in the Russian PBL on Friday night. She was the best player in that game. Dojkic scored 21 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 35 minutes. Sparta&K Vidnoe Moscow Region (7-13) is placed eighth in the PBL. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This year Dojkic's overall stats are: 8.9ppg, 2.6rpg, 2.8apg, 2.0spg, 2FGP: 43.0%, 3FGP: 23.1% and FT: 84.4% in 20 games. She is also a member of the Croatian senior national team.

Andrea Maric

   #4. Center Andrea Maric (195-97, currently plays in WABA) was the major contributor in a Athlete Celje's victory against the league outsider Partizan (2-11) crushing them 71-42 in the WABA in Wednesday night's game. Maric recorded 14 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks. ZKK Athlete Celje (9-4) is placed fourth in the WABA. Her team will play only one more game in the WABA Second Stage. And now that game is quite important. Maric's total stats this season are: 6.3ppg and 3.7rpg. She used to play for the Croatian U18 national team back in 2014.

   #5. U20 international shooting guard Iva Slonjsak (183-97, currently plays in Slovenia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Andrea Maric. But that was another game of her team in Slovenian SKL which we would like to mention. Slonjsak contributed to an easy victory against the fifth-ranked Konjice (9-8) crushing them 79-47. She was the top player that evening. Slonjsak recorded 13 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in only a mere 14 minutes. ZKK Athlete Celje (10-1) is placed first in Places 1-6 group. Slonjsak has very impressive stats this year: 15.3ppg, 5.7rpg, 3.6apg and 1.6spg in 16 games. She plays currently for the Croatian U20 national team.

   #6. Guard Ivana Seric (170-88, college: NJIT, currently plays in Serbia) could not help ZKK Kraljevo (13-8) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Seric's good performance ZKK Kraljevo was defeated 66-54 on the road by the leading ZKK Vrsac. She was the top scorer with 14 points. Seric also added made 4 passes and 3 steals (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Her team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. Seric's total stats this season are: 7.9ppg, 2.8rpg, 3.7apg and 1.9spg. She is a former international player as she played for the Croatian senior team two years ago.

Antonija Sandric

   #7. International forward Antonija Sandric (181-88, also represented by 1x1 Sports, currently plays in Spain) contributed to Gernika's victory against the 11th-ranked Socinsa Bembibre (9-13) 77-66 in the Spanish LFB on Saturday night. Sandric recorded 10 points and added 4 passes in 29 minutes. Gernika Bizkaia (15-7) is placed third in the LFB. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. Sandric has relatively good stats this year: 11.3ppg, 2.4rpg, 1.9apg and 1.4spg in nine games. She is also Croatian national team player.

Josipa Bura

   #8. Center Josipa Bura (186-85, currently plays in Czech Republic) contributed to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams MK Technic (1-21) crushing them 97-47 in the Czech Republic ZBL in Saturday night's game. Bura recorded 10 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Sokol ZVUS Hradec Kralove (17-5) is placed second in the ZBL. It was her team's third consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. Bura's total stats this season are: 7.2ppg, 6.4rpg, 1.5apg and 1.4spg. She used to play for the Croatian national team back in 2009.

   #9. International power forward Nina Premasunac (186-92, agency: LBM Management, currently plays in Italy) was not able to help La Spezia in their last game. Despite Premasunac's very good performance La Spezia lost 72-82 at home to the lower-ranked (#5) Napoli. She was the top scorer with 26 points. Premasunac also added 6 rebounds in 29 minutes. This year Premasunac has relatively solid stats: 13.0ppg, 8.0rpg and 1.6spg in 19 games. She is also in the roster of the Croatian national team.

   #10. Center Ivana Tikvic (189-94, currently plays in Italy) was not able to secure a victory for one of league's weakest teams Torino (5-14) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Tikvic's good performance Torino was defeated 64-58 on their home court in Torino by the higher-ranked Umbertide (#7). She recorded 12 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and made 5 blocks. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. Tikvic's total stats this season are: 8.8ppg, 8.1rpg and 1.9spg. She is an international player who is currently on the senior Croatian National Team roster.

   #11. Former U18 international guard Martina Tomic (176-92, currently plays in Slovenia) couldn't help Janina (1-10) in their last game. Despite Tomic's very good performance the sixth-placed Janina was crushed 77-53 in Ljubljana by the higher-ranked (#3) Ilrija in the Places 1-6 group. She was the top scorer with 20 points. Tomic also added 4 rebounds in 38 minutes. Tomic has very impressive stats this year: 16.4ppg, 3.9rpg and 1.7spg in 17 games. She used to play for the Croatian U18 national team seven years ago.

   #12. International center Ana-Marija Begic (190-94, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Campus Promete (11-11) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Begic's good performance Campus Promete was defeated 87-74 in Girona by the second-ranked Argon Uni. She recorded 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Begic's total stats this season are: 2.8ppg and 3.0rpg. She is also in the roster of the Croatian national team.

   #13. International center Marija Rezan (198-89, currently plays in Poland) managed to help CCC Polkowice in a victory against one of league's weakest teams TS Ostrovia crushing them 90-54 in the Polish TBLK on Saturday night. Rezan scored 5 points and blocked 2 blocks in 12 minutes. This year Rezan's total stats are: 9.5ppg, 6.2rpg and 1.5bpg in 21 games. She is also Croatian national team player.

   #14. International small forward Ruzica Dzankic (179-94, currently plays in Russia) contributed to an easy victory against the fourth-ranked Vologda-Chevakata 84-66 in the Russian PBL in Friday night's game. Dzankic scored 8 points, made 3 passes and 4 steals. Dzankic has averaged so far 4.0ppg, 1.8rpg and 1.6apg. She plays currently for the Croatian national team.

   #15. Former international center Emilija Podrug (190-79, currently plays in France) contributed to Toulouse's victory against the eighth-ranked Montbrison 65-61 in the French LF2 (second division) last Saturday. Podrug scored 6 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished 8 assists in 35 minutes. Podrug has reliable stats this year: 10.3ppg, 5.5rpg and 3.4apg in 16 games. She used to play for the Croatian national team seven years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Croatian passport but never been selected to any of Croatian national teams:

   #1. Experienced Suzy Batkovic-Brown (195-C-80, currently plays in Australia) could not help Townsville Fire (14-10) in their last game on Friday. Despite Batkovic-Brown's good performance Townsville Fire was defeated 76-61 on the road by the leading Sydney Uni Flames. She recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 17 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). It's Batkovic-Brown's fourth season with the team. Batkovic-Brown has individually a very good year with high stats. She averages: 20.9ppg, 10.8rpg, 2.7apg and 1.2bpg. Batkovic-Brown has a dual citizenship: Croatian and Australian.

   #2. Dubravka Dacic (201-C-85, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help Al-Qazeres (9-13) in their last game. Despite her very good performance Al-Qazeres was edged 74-71 at home by the higher-ranked (#5) Universitario de Ferrol. Dacic had a double-double by scoring 16 points and getting 11 rebounds. She also added 3 assists in 27 minutes. It was Al-Qazeres' fifth consecutive loss in a row. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Dacic's total stats are: 9.9ppg and 7.2rpg in 22 games she played so far. She is another player who holds two passports: Croatian and Italian.

   #3. Iva Serdar (195-C-82, agency: Global Sports Plaza, currently plays in Slovenia) was not able to secure a victory for Janina (1-10) in their game against Ilrija (7-4) in the Slovenian SKL. Serdar cannot count Friday's game as one of the best ones. She recorded only 2 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Janina (#6) was crushed 77-53 in Ljubljana by the higher-ranked Ilrija (#3) in the Places 1-6 group. It was Janina's first loss after four consecutive victories. Serdar has averaged so far 9.3ppg and 7.6rpg.

   #4. Martina Bozikov (189-PF-84, currently plays in Germany) couldn't help ChemCats Chemnitz (17-8) in their game against Herner TC (11-9) in the German DBBL. She cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. Bozikov scored only 3 points in 19 minutes. ChemCats Chemnitz lost 67-81 in Herne to the lower-ranked (#5) r TC. It was ChemCats Chemnitz's first loss after three consecutive victories. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. Bozikov has averaged so far 5.0ppg and 3.9rpg in nine games.

   #5. Iva Bosnjak (174-G/F-1, currently plays in Switzerland) couldn't help Winterthur (0-1) in their game against Aarau (1-0) in the Swiss LNA. She cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. Bosnjak recorded only 3 points and had 4 steals. Winterthur (#5) was crushed 90-63 on the opponent's court by the second-ranked Aarau in the Places 1-5 group. There are only three games left until the end of the Second Stage. Bosnjak has averaged so far 2.3ppg and 1.7rpg.
