Valentina
Simunic
18-year old guard Valentina Simunic (175-G-98) had a very impressive game in the last round for Podravac and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 20.
She recorded a triple-double of 22 points adding also 13 rebounds and 18 assists, while her team outclassed Croatia 2006 (#11, 1-18) with 62-point margin 97-35. Podravac maintains the 7th position in Croatian A1. Podravac is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 8-11 record. In the team's last game Simunic had a remarkable 54.5% from 2-point range. She has many years of experience at Podravac, through which she has constantly improved. Simunic has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in assists (2nd best: 7.2apg) and averages solid 3.0spg.

Second best performed player last round was Mihaela Lazic (168-G) of Brod na Savi. She is a guard in her 6th season at Brod na Savi. In the last game Lazic recorded impressive 32 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course Brod na Savi cruised to a 69-57 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked Zadar (#6, 9-9). Brod na Savi's 10th position in the standings has not changed. 16 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Brod na Savi managed to get this year. Lazic is one of the most experienced players at Brod na Savi and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.8ppg (#2). Her other stats are also decent: 5.9rpg and 4.9apg.

Third place about best performers goes to center Nina Dedic (187-C-96) of Zadar (#6). Dedic scored 24 points and grabbed ten rebounds. Despite Dedic's great performance Zadar lost 57-69 to the lower-ranked Brod na Savi (#10, 3-16). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Zadar needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 9 victories and 9 lost games. Dedic has a very solid season. In 18 games in Croatia she scored 12.9ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Maja Puljic (170-G-93) of Split - 20 points and 6 rebounds
5. Ana Vrsaljko (188-F/C-84) of Sibenik - 20 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Sandra Mandir (177-G-77) of Pozega - 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists
7. Marija Rados (180-C-93) of Medvescak - 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists
8. Kristina Soldo (177-G-88) of Pozega - 21 points, 3 rebounds and 8 assists
9. Petra Lovric (166-PG-96) of Pozega - 17 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Anja Perko (170-PG) of Pula C.Tours - 21 points, 2 rebounds and 9 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
