We bring you last week's top performances from Croatians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international point guard Rok Stipcevic (185-86, agency: Alti Sport, currently plays in Italy). He led Banco di Srd to a victory over the closely-ranked Betaland Cdo (14-13) 74-64 in the Italian Serie A in Saturday night's game. Stipcevic was MVP of the game. He scored 20 points and added 3 assists in 31 minutes on the court. Banco di Sardegna Sassari (16-11) is placed fourth in the Serie A. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Stipcevic has relatively good stats this year: 11.8ppg, 2.3rpg, 2.7apg, 2FGP: 43.2%, 3FGP: 39.9% and FT: 84.6% in 27 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Croatian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to former international center Ante Tomic (217-87, agency: XL Basketball Agency, currently plays in Spain). Tomic could not help FC Barcelona (18-9) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his good performance FC Barcelona was badly defeated 76-59 on the road by the second-ranked Valencia Basket. Tomic recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 11 rebounds. It's Tomic's fifth season with the team. This year he has relatively solid stats: 12.6ppg, 7.9rpg, 2.2apg, 2FGP: 63.6%(131-206) and FT: 63.3%. Tomic played for the Croatian national team in 2015.

   #3. The Croatian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international center Darko Planinic (211-90, currently plays in Spain). He was not able to help Gran Canaria in their game against Baskonia (19-8) in the Spanish Liga Endesa, despite his very good performance on Friday night. Planinic scored 13 points and grabbed 4 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) in 22 minutes. But Gran Canaria lost 90-95 in Vitoria to the higher-ranked (#4) Baskonia. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This year Planinic's overall stats are: 8.1ppg, 2.8rpg, 2FGP: 59.5%(44-74) and FT: 79.0% in 17 games. Ex-KK Cibona VIP Zagreb player is also a member of the Croatian senior national team.

   #4. An experienced point guard Roko-Leni Ukic (196-84, also represented by XL Basketball Agency, currently plays in Greece) was not able to secure a victory for AEK Athens (19-7) in their game against Aris (15-11) in the Greek A1. Despite his good performance in Thursday night's game He scored 10 points and added 7 passes. The Regular Season already ended. It's Ukic's first season with the team. Ukic has reliable stats this year: 10.7ppg, 2.5rpg and 3.7apg. He is also Croatian national team player.

   #5. International center Josip Sobin (203-89, another player represented by Alti Sport, currently plays in Poland) was the main contributor in Anwil's victory against the fifth-ranked Rosa (18-11) 80-74 in the Polish PLK last Monday. Sobin was the best player in that game. He had a double-double by scoring 16 points and getting 11 rebounds in 29 minutes. Anwil Wloclawek (23-7) is placed first in the PLK. It was his team's 13th consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important. Sobin's stats this year are: 11.4ppg, 6.7rpg, 1.7apg and 1.1spg in 30 games. He plays currently for the Croatian national team.

Power forward Leon Radosevic (207-90, agency: BeoBasket, currently plays in Germany) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked ALBA Berlin (18-12) 88-71 in the German BBL on Sunday night. Radosevic recorded 10 points. Brose Baskets Bamberg (27-3) is placed second in the BBL. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be extremely important. This season Radosevic averages: 7.2ppg and 2.7rpg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Croatian National Team roster.

Former U18 international power forward Stjepan Tesija (206-89, agency: PEPI SPORT, currently plays in Bulgaria) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Academik Plovdiv (16-7) crushing them 85-64 in the Bulgarian NBL in Friday night's game. Tesija was the top player that evening. He scored 16 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and made 2 blocks in a mere 19 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. BC Beroe (9-7) is placed third in the NBL. They ended the series of three consecutive loses. Tesija's team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. This year Tesija's total stats are: 9.5ppg and 5.7rpg in 22 games. He used to play for the Croatian U18 national team ten years ago.

   #8. Swingman Krunoslav Simon (197-85, currently plays in Italy) couldn't help Armani Milano (21-6) in their game against Enel Brindisi (13-14) in the Italian Serie A. Simon scored 6 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. The league leader Armani Milano was edged 70-68 in Brindisi by the much lower-ranked Enel (#9). There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. Simon's stats this season are: 12.4ppg, 4.8rpg and 2.8apg. He plays currently for the Croatian national team.

Former U20 international power forward Ivan Buva (208-91, currently plays in Spain) was the major contributor in a RETAbet BB's surprising victory against the second-ranked Valencia Basket (20-7) 88-75 in the Spanish Liga Endesa on Wednesday night. Buva scored 14 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 21 minutes. RETAbet Bilbao Basket (12-14) is placed ninth in the Liga Endesa. Buva averaged so far 11.5ppg and 5.4rpg in 27 games. He used to play for the Croatian U20 national team six years ago.

   #10. Power forward Dario Saric (207-94, currently plays in NBA) couldn't help the Philadelphia 76ers (27-55) in their game against the Indiana Pacers (42-40) in the NBA. Despite his good performance in Monday night's game Saric scored 12 points, had 6 rebounds and dished 3 assists. The Regular Season already ended in the NBA. Saric has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 12.8ppg, 6.3rpg and 2.2apg. Saric is an international player who is currently on the senior Croatian National Team roster.

   #11. Former U20 international center Domagoj Bubalo (212-91, agency: 011 Sports, currently plays in Estonia) contributed to Parnu's victory against the fifth-ranked TTU 82-74 in the Estonian Alexela KML last Wednesday. He was the top player that evening. Bubalo had a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 10 rebounds in 36 minutes. Bubalo has very impressive stats this year: 16.8ppg, 8.3rpg and 1.7apg in 19 games. He used to play for the Croatian U20 national team six years ago.

   #12. International point guard Dontaye Draper (180-84, college: Charleston, currently plays in Spain) managed to help Real Madrid to win against one of league's weakest teams Sevilla 87-76 in the Spanish Liga Endesa on Saturday night. Draper scored only 3 points. Draper has averaged so far 2.8ppg and 1.3apg. He is a naturalized American. Draper is also in the roster of the Croatian national team. He used to play for Cedevita Zagreb in Croatian league.

   #13. International center Justin Hamilton (213-90, college: LSU, currently plays in NBA) couldn't help the Brooklyn Nets in their game against the Chicago Bulls in the NBA. Hamilton scored 8 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 30 minutes. His team were crushed by 39 points 112-73 in the NBA. Hamilton has averaged so far 6.9ppg and 4.1rpg in 64 games. He is a naturalized American. Hamilton is also Croatian national team player. He used to play for KK Cibona VIP Zagreb in Croatian league.

   #14. International swingman Mario Hezonja (202-95, currently plays in NBA) contributed to an Orlando Magic's victory against the Detroit Pistons 113-109 in the NBA last Wednesday. Hezonja scored 8 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Hezonja has averaged so far 4.9ppg and 2.3rpg. He plays currently for the Croatian national team.

   #15. Former international power forward Damir Markota (209-85, another player represented by XL Basketball Agency, currently plays in Turkey) contributed to an Istanbul BBSK's victory against the closely-ranked Demir IBB 86-79 in the Turkish BSL on Saturday night. Markota scored 14 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 24 minutes. Markota has averaged so far 8.2ppg, 4.3rpg and 1.6apg in 25 games. He used to play for the Croatian national team three years ago.

   #1. Veljko Budimir (199-F-85, currently plays in Hungary) was the major contributor in a PVSK Pannon's victory against the fifth-ranked Sopron KC (13-17) 103-94 in the Hungarian A Division last Wednesday. Budimir recorded 19 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 34 minutes. PVSK Pannonpower Pecs (18-12) is placed first in Places 6-10 group. There are only four games left until the end of the Second Stage. Budimir is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in PVSK Pannon's roster. He averaged so far 13.7ppg, 4.7rpg, 2.0apg and 1.1spg in 30 games he played so far.

   #2. Marko Jagodic Kuridza (205-PF-87, agency: PEPI SPORT, currently plays in Belgium) contributed to Oostende's victory against the closely-ranked Basic-Fit Brussels (18-11) 58-53 in the Belgian Euromillions League in Sunday night's game. Jagodic Kuridza scored 7 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 18 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Telenet BC Oostende (24-5) is placed first in the Euromillions League. Jagodic Kuridza has averaged so far 6.4ppg, 4.7rpg and 1.1apg in 28 games. He has a dual citizenship: Serbian and Croatian.

   #3. Marin Mornar (205-F-93, college: Loyola Mary, currently plays in Denmark) led Horsens IC to a victory over the sixth-ranked SISU (12-16) 84-77 in the Danish Ligaen last Tuesday. Mornar was the top player that evening. He recorded 19 points; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Mornar's third season in pro basketball. Horsens IC (23-5) is placed second in the Ligaen. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Mornar has averaged so far 6.1ppg and 2.9rpg.

   #4. Experienced Pankracije Barac (196-G-81, agency: Court Side, currently plays in Switzerland) contributed to Monthey's victory against the fourth-ranked Geneve Lions (14-10) 75-65 in the Swiss LNA on Saturday night. He recorded 19 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists (made all of his six free throws) in 38 minutes. BBC Monthey (17-7) is placed second in Places 1-6 group. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. They will play only one more game in the Second Stage. Barac averaged so far 14.8ppg, 3.7rpg, 2.2apg and 1.3spg in six games.

   #5. Toni Bizaca (202-F-82, agency: XL Basketball Agency, currently plays in Sweden) was the main contributor in a Sodertalje Kings' victory against the closely-ranked KFUM Jamtland (16-16) 83-74 in the Swedish Basketligan in Tuesday night's game. He was the top player that evening. Bizaca scored 25 points and grabbed 6 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Sodertalje Kings (23-9) is placed third in the Basketligan. Bizaca is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fifth year in Sodertalje Kings' roster. He has individually a very good season with high stats. Bizaca averages: 17.6ppg, 4.6rpg and 1.6apg.

   #6. Milan Stegnjaic (204-F/C-81, currently plays in Austria) contributed to an easy victory against the seventh-ranked Furstenfeld Panthers 86-68 in the Austrian A Bundesliga last Monday. He recorded 17 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Stegnjaic averaged so far 10.4ppg, 5.3rpg and 1.2apg. He is another player who holds two passports: Croatian and Austrian.

   #7. Mladen Primorac (210-C-90, also represented by PEPI SPORT, currently plays in Czech Republic) contributed to an easy victory against the fifth-ranked BK Opava crushing them 74-49 in the Czech Republic NBL in Wednesday night's game. Primorac scored 11 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. He has averaged so far 8.5ppg, 6.0rpg and 1.5apg.

   #8. Igor Maric (196-F-85, currently plays in Slovakia) contributed to Prievidza's victory against the closely-ranked Inter Bratislava 90-78 in the Slovakian SBL in Saturday night's game. Maric recorded 13 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 34 minutes. He averaged so far 13.6ppg, 5.8rpg, 1.9apg and 1.4spg in 40 games.

   #9. Mladen Pavlovic (193-G-89, currently plays in Serbia) managed to help KK Vrsac Swisslion to win against the seventh-ranked Tamis 80-69 in the Serbian KLS last Wednesday. Pavlovic scored 5 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. He has averaged so far 8.6ppg, 3.2rpg, 1.2apg and 1.3spg. Pavlovic has both Croatian and Serbian nationalities.

   #10. Matija Poscic (206-C-85, college: De Paul, currently plays in Hungary) contributed to a 2-point MAFC's victory against the fourth-ranked Vasas 84-82 in a derby game in the Hungarian A Division on Wednesday night. Poscic recorded 19 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists in 29 minutes. He averaged so far 11.4ppg, 6.5rpg and 1.3apg in 27 games. Worth to mention he played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

The search for the head coach of Ribola Kastela is complete, and the hire came from within. The club named Luka Zitko (196-G/F-81) as head coach for the upcoming season. Zitko replaces Ivica Celan after he served under him as an assistant coach last season. Ribola Kastela will not extend contract of coach Ivica Celan - 3 days ago
Newly promoted Ribola Kastela has mutually agreed not to activate the extension clause in contract of head coach Ivica Celan, citing personal reasons. Celan took over Ribola Kastela in January 2016 and failed to avoid relegation from the A1 League. Tecnyconta Zaragoza (Liga Endesa) inked 20-year old Croatian small forward Lovro Mazalin (204-97). He played most recently at KK Zadar in Croatian A1 league. In 24 games he averaged 9.3ppg, 5.5rpg, 2.3apg and 1.5spg last season. Mazalin helped them to make it to the semifinals.
