Yannis
Gagaloudis
Yannis Gagaloudis (192-G-78) 30 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists and 11 winning fouls was the one and only reason for Yiannaras unbeated record to finish with the end of the regular reason. Yiannis Yannis Gagaloudis who arrived in Cyprus 48 hours before the game of his team Apollon Limassol left his footprint with the 'good morning' to the Cyprus League. In his opener and in less than 34 minutes, Yiannis was awesome and no matter what Coach Panagiotis Yiannaras was doing to 'cut' his great penetrations or his shooting activities was not able to minimise his losses so the first defeat after 15 games is as of tonight a fact!
The game was a derby at the beggining with Keravnos taking the lead with 14-16 at the first half and Yannis Gagaloudis starting he game with two turn-overs and one missed shot at the first five minutes of the game and with the score being 5-6 for Keravnos. The first three pointer for Yannis Gagaloudis came a bit after and more precisely in the 3.20' before the end of the first period to balance the score to 10-10.With another two free throws the Greek point guard ended the first period with 6 points and everybody though that Yiannis traveled to Cyprus for fun...
The 2nd period we had a real derby in the court as both teams were walking hand to hand and basket to Basket, Yannis Gagaloudis's 2nd three pointer balance the game in zero time to 35-35 in a totally balance game and with the newcomer Greek point guard allready scoring 13 points being the top scorer of the game.
The 3rd period was awesome for the home team, as inn the first three minutes a 10-0 took place and Keravnos players remain pointless for 3.10' with many false balls from Marcus Moore (198-G-80, college: Washington St.) and Hatcher. Strahinja Dragicevic (203-F-86) scored the first two point for Keravnos but Yannis Gagaloudis's six points (total of 19) made the score 62-48 the greatest deficit from the start, for Apollon. With Mandache's third personal turnover, Keravnos went to the break having nightmares as the 29-16 of the specific period was the worst quarter the last four months for the Strovolos team in the Cyprus league. The score became 64-51 and the clock was counting against Keravnos.

The 4th period started with Yannis Gagaloudis scoring a three pointer and a foul shot from Pilavas to reach his personal 23 points and to take the score to 68-53 the biggest deficit in the game for Apollon. With 8.23' to the end Robinson scored for the 70-55 and from then and on the game was an one man's show as the American Marcus Moore who had scored up until the specific minute just 9 points decided to play some decent basketball, so with the great assistance of Strahinja Dragicevic tried to suceed the unexpected and they nearly succeed it as with an awesome 19-30 in the last 8 minutes, not only they cut the deficit to the final 4 points but they were also able to make the game a derby as 36 seconds before the end the score went to its minimum (84-81)with the three pointer by Marcus Moore. Strahinja Dragicevic turnover at the 30 seconds to the end didn't let Keravnos to win the game as Yannis Gagaloudis with his 30th point and with Reymond's two free throws the game ended once and for all for Keravnos and the winning stake of Keravnos is now a history!
Top scorers:
Apollon: Yannis Gagaloudis 30, Benjamin Raymond (198-G/F-87, college: Xavier) 17, Robinson and Rush 11 points per head. Benjamin Raymond dashed down also 7 rebounds
Keravnos: Marcus Moore 20, Strahinja Dragicevic 15 and Hatcher 14
Top seated Keravnos will play in the first phase of play-offs with the 8th placed AEL while 2nd seated Apollon will play with the 7th positioned Ydra Asfalistiki ENAD.
