Third game of the Cypriot League Finals was played yesterday in Limassol. Keravnos managed to beat the regular season champion AEL 44-61 taking 1-2 lead in the series. The format is best-of-five, what means that Keravnos is only one win away from the title. Game Four is scheduled for Wednesday in Nicosia. Marija Boskovic (173-G-81) and Michaela Vezenkova (191-F-84, college: NC-Wilmington) were the leading players in victory with 14 points each. Valentina Emilova Ionova (176-G/F-83, college: Adelphi) followed them with 11 points. At the other side, AEL got 19 points from Kalia Papadopoulou (166-G-80). Ends of quarters: 10-13, 15-30, 26-44, 44-61.
Keravnos celebrated 63-48 home victory in Game Two. In the first game AEL outplayed Keravnos at home 61-42. The Limassol team was the regular season champion and it has a home court advantage in this series. Both AEL and Keravnos outplayed their rivals in the QFinals with perfect 3-0. AEL blasted Olympos in Game Three 77-39. The Limassol team had no troubles in the first two meetings as well. Keravnos handed 57-48 loss to University of Cyprus on Sunday. Before that, Keravnos registered two 20+ point margin wins. AEL is the defending champion. They won last six championship titles on Cyprus.

Keravnos and AEL enter the Finals - 2 days ago
Keravnos and AEL enter the Finals as they swept the semifinal clashes against their opponents. Keravnos overcame Apollon 58-37 in game 2 to win the series 2-0. Sophia Theologou (190-C-88) top-scored for the winners with 21 points and Koulla Nikodemou(170-G-86) netted 12. AEL meanwhile won the series against ENAD 2-0. AEL needed a 46-39 win in game 2 to sweep the series.   [read more]

AEL and Keravnos won first games of the semifinals clashes. AEL overcame ENAD 70-66 in double-overtime drama. Zoe Agapiou (182-F/C-83) top-scored for the winners with 17 points, while Loukia Larkou (171-F/G-88) posted 14. Keravnos meanwhile thrashed Apollon 70-31. After a slow 15-14 start, the hosts erupted for a 15-1 surge in the second frame and dominated also the second half. Zoe Athanasiou (172-C-88) top-scored for the winners with 19 points and Sophia Theologou (190-C-88) netted 15.   [read more]

Keravnos - ENAD 54-41 Keravnos edge ENAD to capture Cup title in Cyprus. Keravnos posted a 54-41 win as they controlled the majority of the game. The board showed 15-11 at the end of the first period for the top team of the Regular Season. Keravnos led 25-23 at the halftime and then pushed the tempo for 40-30 with 10 minutes to go.
