Bobby Maze
The Cyprus site Keravnos Strovolou proved that the victory succeed last week was not coincidental at all, besides even the defeat in the first round against the almighty Russians of Samara was not an easy case for the home team at all. So, now Keravnos with a record of 2-1 has increased its chances to qualified in the next round something which will be quite unique since the last many seasons the Cyprus teams are saying goodbye to their European duties much earlier that the rest of the countries.
Nevertheless, the team of Keravnos in last night's games was dominant in all edges against the Romanians of
CSU Asesoft Ploiesti even though the beginning was not so promising for the troops of Coach Yiannaras, since the Romanians with the veteran power forward Virgil Stanescu in a dominant position over the big guys of Keravnos took an early lead of initially seven points but right before the end of the first period Keravnos with Bobby Maze (191-PG-86, college: Tennessee) in his best game since he joined forces with Keravnos Strovolou, cut the deficit to its minimum to end up the period with 23-25 for Asesoft.

The second period was a bit of the same since the Romanians kept a small deficit but Keravnos was coming back and with a duet on fire (Bobby Maze and Tony Crocker (201-G/F-87, college: Oklahoma) end up the game with 43 points together), the Strovolos team took the lead and end up the first half with a +3 (40-37).

The same mode for the third period since the two teams were going through the game basket to basket with the ex player of AEL Limassol, Darius Hargrove giving some solid assistance to his team with his game from the guard position, while Keravnos found a new scorer other than Bobby Maze and Tony Crocker since Lawrence Kinnard (202-F-86, college: UAB) was also on a good shape. The score on the third period ended to 62-60

In the fourth and most crucial period Keravnos (which is translated as Thunder in English) was a real Thunder in the Papaellinas home court so, with a solid offensive basketball and with great defense on the "Romanian stars" took a serious lead which was increase it periodically to finally stopped in the final score of a +12, 88-76 and celebrating its second victory in Eurochallenge.

Top scorers were the following:
Keravnos: Bobby Maze 23 points, 5 assists, 3 steals, Tony Crocker 20 points, 5 assists, 4 steals, Lawrence Kinnard 16 points, 5 rebounds, 2 block shots and Trisokkas 11
Asesoft: Vladimir Tica (208-C/F-81, agency: BeoExcell) 15, Stanescu 13, Burlacu 11 and Hargrove 10.
