Michelin Etha Engomis succeeded a crucial road win at Melford Arena over AEL Limassol with 72-85 and is now at the fourth positon of the league with a positive record of 4-2 while the ex queen of Cyprus Basketball, AEL Limassol added another one loss in its series and is now in the last position of the league with a negative record of 1-5 seriers.
The game was a derby only for ten minutes since that was the actual time that the home team was able to keep the paste and the lead. The first ten minutes the game was a derby with the home team with a solid Palalas and very good Orion Outerbridge (205-F-88, college: Rhode Island) overcome the visiting site by two points with the score being 24-22 and Palalas already scoring 7 of his 11 in total points followed by Orion Outerbridge who ended the period with 6. On the other hand, the polyphony was the characteristic of Coach Adamoy team since three players had four points per head (C.J. Williams (195-G, college: N.Carolina St.), Aaron Johnson (203-F/C-83, agency: Beo Basket, college: N.Mexico) and Adgboye).
The second period started with Etha getting the initiatives from the very beggining with Dejan Cup and Aaron Johnson being the top men of the visiting site while on the other side the usual suspect Milutin Aleksis was in a low productivity night. Orion Outerbridge was all alone as Palalas after a fast basket stopped scoring while Pesic and Allen were in a not so good mood. Etha took a lead by four points at the end of the second period, 36-40
In the third period, Etha kept scoring from allover while the only 6 players of AEL who were able to score were getting tired and facing some foul issues too. Etha reached the double digit for the first time in the game some minutes before the end of the period, but Orion Outerbridge with another lay up cut the deficit at the end. The score was 56-63
During the last period, Etha not only kept the paste but increased the deficit by as many as 15 points three minutes before the end of the game. The final score 72-85 could have been even a +20 points for Etha, but Orion Outerbridge and Guillandeaux at the end helped their team to cut the deficit.
Top scorers:
AEL: Orion Outerbridge 21 and 9 rebounds, Guillandeaux 12 and 5 assists, Allen and Aleksic 10 per head and Palalas 11 points.
