Aleksic's double-double lands him Player of the Week award - Dec 19, 2012

30-year old forward Milutin Aleksic (203-F-82) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for AEL and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 8.
He had a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Omonia (#7, 2-6) 83-78. AEL is placed at 6th position in Cypriot league. AEL is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-5 record. Aleksic turned to be AEL's top player in his first season with the team. Aleksic has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (5th best: 16.5ppg), rebounds (4th best: 7.8rpg), assists (2nd best: 4.8apg) and averages solid 54.2% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Anthony Lee-Ingram (195-F-88, agency: Beo Basket) of Omonia. He is American forward in his first season at Omonia. In the last game Lee-Ingram recorded impressive 25 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Omonia lost that game 78-83 to slightly higher-ranked AEL (#6, 3-5). This loss caused Omonia to drop to 7th position in the standings. 6 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Omonia managed to get this year. Lee-Ingram is a newcomer at Omonia and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.9ppg (#2). He also registered 8.3 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to another AEL's star - forward Orion Outerbridge (205-F-88). Outerbridge scored 17 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). He was another key player of AEL, helping his team with a 83-78 win against slightly lower-ranked Omonia (#7, 2-6). The chances of AEL not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 5 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Outerbridge could try to bring AEL's a little bit higher in the standings. Outerbridge has individually a great season in Cyprus. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.9ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 9.0rpg (#1 in league).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Isaac Wells (203-F-85) of Apoel - 18 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Dante Stiggers (188-PG-82) of Apoel - 20 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Vernon Hamilton (183-PG-84) of ENAD - 21 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Maurice Bolden (208-G/F-89) of ENAD - 14 points and 10 rebounds
8. Mihajlo Pesic (206-F/C-81) of AEL - 16 points and 9 rebounds
9. Jeremy Allen (193-G-88) of Omonia - 19 points and 4 rebounds
10. Mike Morrison (205-F-89) of Apoel - 15 points and 6 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
