APOEL Stuns Apollon 70-68 in Limassol - Jan 30, 2013

Dante
Stiggers
Limassol - CY,

After several lead changes in the first half, Nicosia side APOEL was able to pull things together late in the 4th quarter and edge Apollon 70-68. APOEL's first lead in the second half came with 21 seconds remaining in game on a pair of free throws by Michal Kremen. Apollon did have a chance to tie or take the lead with 13 seconds remaining in the game but Luke Loucks driving layup in traffic fell short.

The win for APOEL improves the underachieving team to 8-8 while dropping Apollon to 500 as well. Unless we see an unlikely late season collapse by Keravnos, Etha or AEK, it appears we could be seeing quality first round matchup between the two teams.

Game ball goes to Dante Stiggers who poured in 14 pts, 5 reb, 5 ast

Apollon was led by Andrew Warren: 23pts, 4/8 3's, 2 stl & Diego Kapelan 15 pts, 2/5 3's, 2 ast

Keravnos Strovolou is unbeaten in the last ten games - 11 hours ago
The team of Coach Christoforos Livadiotis , Keravnos Strovolou after the shock of the second week (home loss from E.N Paralimni) is unbeaten after succeeding an amazing round with awesome road wins in Larnaka, Limassol, Paralimni, and Nicosia beating all its opponents and some of them, the toughest teams (AEK and APOEL) with some quite huge deficits. The Architect of this team, Coach Christoforos Livadiotis after a first season in Strovolos, (last season) saw his "mistakes" and correct th...   [read more]

American-Somalian Forward Mohamed Abukar (208-F-85, agency: Two Points) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Keravnos, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 12. The 31-year old player was the main contributor (25 points, six rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush AEK (#2, 8-4) with 20-point margin 91-71. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Keravnos to consolidate first place in the C...   [read more]

Division A Round 12: AEK lose to Keravnos - 1 day ago
Very significant was Keravnos' (#1, 11-1) victory against second-best AEK (8-4) 91-71. The game was mostly controlled by Keravnos. AEK managed to win third quarter 26-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Somalian forward Mohamed Abukar (208-85, college: San Diego St., agency: Two Points) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 6 reb...   [read more]
