Keravnos Strovolou - Petrolina AEK Larnakas 69-54 The team of Coach Yiannaras, Keravnos Strovolou for a second consecutive season will end up the regular season at the top seat of the league having the full advantage of Paris Papaellinas home court in Strovolos. In a very decisive game took place on the 5th of February, the team of Keravnos vanish the second seated team of AEK Larnakas after beating them with an easy 69-54 putting an end to all the scenarios which wanted the team of AEK Larnakas succeeding the road win to finally end up in either the second or the third position depending on the results of the last three weeks of the regular season.
About the game now, the two teams enter the game with totally different moods since the home team with Andre Owens (193-G-80, college: Houston) (his best performance in the Cyprus league) and Crocker outscoring the team of AEK since the two Americans scored 18 points (of the 24 in total for Keravnos) while AEK's players were able to score just 16 points with Fisher and Panteli in a bad period and only Dion Dixon (190-G-89, college: Cincinnati) (8 points) being in a position to defend his team. In the second period things changed a bit since AEK took over and with the usual duet in the scoring, Fisher and Subotic cut the deficit to only four points 32-28, 1.08' before the end of the first half since Keravnos performed one of his usual (the last three years) black outs and scored just 8 points in 9 minutes. With the game being in an absolute balance 1.08' before the end, Vaughn and Cvetinovic scored on behalf of their teams to remain in the same deficit as the final 34-30 was proving that the derby between the top seated and the second in the league would have had a long way to go..
The nearly 500 fans in Paris Papaellinas arena (mostly Keravnos fans) saw their team in another one well known black out and were ready to "taste" the same kind of sourness since AEK LArnakas was not kidding at all and that was proved when some weeks ago the Strovolos team suffered its one and only home court loss (this season) when the fuming players of Coach Papadopoulos, visited Strovolos and beat the hell out of them. Never the less the first five minutes of the 3rd period found the home team to have an increased deficit of +7 (46-39) since Andre Owens and Bobby Maze (191-PG-86, college: Tennessee) kept the paste for Keravnos. Bobby Maze was warm and after many games (since he was practically off the team for more than 40 days due to some personal problems back in the States), and he proved it as together with Andre Owens gave a deficit of +15 points with one minute to go (56-39) with a straight 10-0. The score in the remaining minute simply became 56-41 with a drive by Panteli.
The fourth period was balanced since Keravnos was very careful not to lose the deficit and by playing 24 seconds offences kept the victory and the deficit of +15 at the end with Andre Owens being the man of the match and Bobby Mazeproving that he is back again... The final score was 69-54 and the top scorers were as follows: Keravnos: Andre Owens 20, Vaughn 13 and 8 rebounds, Crocker 13, Bobby Maze 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. AEK: Dion Dixon 15, Fisher 11
CytaVision APOEL - Proteas AEL 99-66 AEL's mission accomplished last week after beating Omonoia and is remaining officially in the First division, so after that and without the American Ruben Guillandeaux (198-G-88, college: La Salle) who left the team due to financial discrepancies faced like Orion Outerbridge (205-F-88, college: Rhode Island which will drive probably both the players to FIBA and will create some more issues to the Limassol team, AEL had no chance against the full team of APOEL and the 33 points is rather logical difference for the specific game since AEL played once more with Pesic, Aleksic and Kenny Gabriel (203-F-89, college: Auburn) in the roster and the other 9 players were mostly from the U19 team. The periods were: 20-14, 49-36, 74-51 and 99-66. Top scorers: APOEL: Isaac Wells (203-F-85, college: Arkansas St.) 19, Troupe 14, Kremen 12, Ewing 11 and Morrison 10 AEL: Kenny Gabriel 22, Aleksic 21 and Pesic 19 (the only other points scored by AEL were 2 points by Mantovani and two points by Loizidis)
Michelin Etha Engomis - Forex Time Apollon 96-83 Without its top scorer and bet performer of the league the visiting site of Coach Chougaz had no chance against the furious players of Etha, even though Marvin Jefferson (206-C-86, college: Idaho) performed his best game with Apollon jersey, his 27 points were not good for Apollon since Williams was also in a twilight zone and his 26 points together with the solid performance by Poole, Maras, Cup and Doweney showed no mercy towards the Limassol team which lost the chance to take something better this season than the 5th place of the regular season since APOEL now has a +2 and the remaining three games are obviously not enough for the Limassol team to succeed something better than the 5th place. The periods were: 26-13, 50-44, 71-68 and 96-83 Top scorers: Etha: Williams 26, Poole 22, Maras and Cup 15 per head, Downey 11 Apollon: Jefferson 27, Luke 14, Robert Krabbendam (213-C-86, college: Virginia Tech) 12 and Armin Avdibegovic (188-PG-84) 12

The first official game of the season found the champions to add another trophy in their series, as the team of Coach Linos Gavriel beat quite easy APOEL of the Greek Coach Jimmy Koustenis with 92-75 proving from the early beginning that things may stay the same for another one season. AEK Larnakas with the most expensive roster of the league having in its roster an amazing duet, Tore Jamal Thomas and Alexis Harris show no mercy and especially after the 21st minute they took the lead and never watch back. The score in the second time was 52-30!! APOEL begun the game very well but somewhere in the middle of the game the strength and passion from Koustenis players was not enough to compete the furious champions who had three players in double digits and another three very close to the double digits, while Coach Gavriel use his 11 out of 12 players (only the veteran Garcia remain at bench) splitting the time quite balanced while he saw Alexis Harris being in an amazing shape scoring 20 points with nearly perfect stats, dashing down 4 rebounds, sharing 2 assists and gaining three fouls remaining in the court the longest than all his team-mates
