Zvonko
Buljan
25-year old forward Zvonko Buljan (206-F-87) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's best team Keravnos and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 20.
He had a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat Apollon (#5, 9-12) 70-58. It allowed Keravnos to consolidate first place in the Cypriot league. Keravnos have a solid 18-3 record. In the team's last game Buljan had a remarkable 63.6% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Zvonko Buljan averages this season 9.0ppg and 7.3rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Milutin Aleksic (203-F-82) of AEL. He is Serbian forward in his first season at AEL. In the last game Aleksic recorded impressive 22 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Bad luck as AEL was edged by slightly lower-ranked ENAD (#7, 5-15) 66-62. AEL is still second from the bottom in the standings. 15 lost games are too many comparing to just six victories AEL managed to get this year. Aleksic is a newcomer at AEL and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.6ppg (#3). His other stats are also decent: 7.6rpg and 4.9apg.

Third place about best performers goes to center Marvin Jefferson (206-C-86) of Apollon (#5). Jefferson scored 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Despite Jefferson's great performance Apollon lost 58-70 to the higher-ranked Keravnos (#1, 18-3). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Apollon ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 12 games, recording just nine victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Jefferson could help Apollon to bring them higher in the standings. Jefferson has a great season in Cyprus. After 16 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 6.2rpg (8th best). He also has 1.7bpg and FGP: 61.5%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. C.J. Williams (195-G) of Etha - 25 points and 4 rebounds
5. Donte Poole (190-G-89) of Etha - 12 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Isaac Wells (203-F-85) of Apoel - 15 points and 4 rebounds
7. Mike Morrison (205-F-89) of Apoel - 17 points and 5 rebounds
8. Lewis Sims (203-F/C-73) of ENAD - 16 points and 7 rebounds
9. Vernon Hamilton (183-PG-84) of ENAD - 7 points and 9 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

In 15 games he recorded very impressive stats: 21.9ppg, 4.7rpg, 4.1apg and 1.3spg this season. The last season Jaxen played at Moncton Miracles in Canadian NBL Canada where in 43 games he averaged remarkable 15.9ppg, 4.2rpg, 4.5apg and 1.5spg. Division A Round 20: Apoel defeat Enosis in the game between Top 4 teams - 3 days ago
An interesting game for Apoel (11-9) which played road game in Paralimni against one of their biggest challengers Enosis (8-12). Third ranked Apoel had an easy win 79-60. The game without a history. Apoel led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. Apoel looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Enosis helped opponents get some easy...   [read more]
