Limassol - CY,

After losing the game 1 of the 2013 Cyprus League Playoffs quarterfinals to APOEL 85-69 in Nicosia, Limassol side Apollon was able to hold off the visiting team and even the series 1-1. The winner of the this round will take on top seed Keravnos in a best of five series. Led by Andrew Warren (18 pts, 3/4 3's, 7 ast) Apollon jumped out to a early 14 point lead after the first quarter however they let the visiting team back in the game and were trailing by the end of the third quarter after a 9-0 APOEL run. APOEL's bench came through as Michael Kremen and Ales Chan helped lead the charge with 28 points combined on 59% shooting. They were able to own the paint with a 22-6 points in the paint advantage while Apollon surrendered a game high 16 turnovers. All five Apollon starters scored double figures and the 29-15 difference in fast break points proved to be the difference in the game.

Game Notes:

Apollon: 50% FG, 10/21 3's, 62% FT
Diego Kapelan: 16 pts, 5 reb, 3 ast, 2 stl
Marvin Jefferson: 13 pts, 67% FG, 6 reb, 2 stl, 2 blk

Cadarian Raines claims Cypriot Division A weekly honour - 2 days ago

American Cadarian Raines (206-F-90) put on an amazing game in the last round for Apollon and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 7. The 26-year old forward had a double-double of 17 points and twelve rebounds, while his team edged out Apoel (#3, 4-3) 70-66. Apollon maintains the 5th position in Cypriot Division A. The season is still in it's early stage, so the team may have a chance to improve their current position in the standings. They lost 5 game...   [read more]

Wee 6: Keravnos was the boss and dominated in Paralimni!! - 8 days ago

During the 6th week Keravnos Strovolou (who's currently in the first position of the league after six games with a 5-1 record) dominated at all edges and got a small revenge from Paralimni is the team of Coach Papadopoulos was the one and only to force the Strovolos team (during the first round) to suffer their only (until now) defeat in the competition. The final score 43-75 says it all!! Coach Livadiotis troops remembered very well what has happened in their home court a month ago and w...   [read more]
