Ivana Raca
Eurobasket.com had a change to have a chat with one of the most talented women basketball player - Ivana Raca (190-SG-99).

As I understand That for your basketball start your parents are a very important part of your success and until today ..explain us a little about the influence of the parents at the beginning of your career and to this day, who were professional basketball players and coaches today?
Do parents have given help and advice from parents as someone who is your coach?

My parents have deserved credit for my start in sports and successes so far. It is interesting that they have never had an impact on the selection of sport that I deal .... I started with ballet and then trained alongside athletics (high jump) and basketball ... prevailed love of the piece. Balls and collective sport ... And from then on I started my basketball career ...

Certainly my parents help me with their advice and suggestions ... They are the ones who me brave, give support in all my decisions and are always with me ...

When and where have you started playing bball?

I have started playing basketball when i was 8yrs old on Cyprus.

You were born in Cyprus but your roots are from Serbia. How is growing up in foreign country?

Although my roots are from Serbia and was born in Cyprus, I grew up like all other children from Serbia and Cyprus in a beautiful and healthy environment ... my parents were the first coaches (mom) and immediately I basically understood philosophy, discipline and the sporting spirit that have brought to me and my sister ... independently in any environment you live.

What is the level of basketball i clubs and schools at Cyprus?

Unfortunately women basketball in Cyprus in schools and clubs are at a low level where you do not have much room for advancement competition and competition a little ... for example: women's national team of Cyprus does not participate in competitions for a long time ...

When and why did you move to Greece as a family and can you make comparation between greek and cypriot basktball?

This is the biggest reason for our family changed residence (2012) to Greece..cause level of basketball in Greece at a much higher level ... compared to Cyprus.. several bigger clubs and therefore the competition is much higher, competitions at all stages, takes into account the youth and have a chance to compare the school contest and get to the World Championships, where my sister and I were participating such competitions (Aristotelia college- Limoges -2015)

What do you think of your sister going to NCAA College basketball?Would you do it?

Decions of my sister to study and play basketball college is great because it gives prospective compare both works and of organizational requirements and the highest possible level .... I still have not decided, but why not follow my sister way across the Atlantic ..

Where are you currently playing? As I understand you are youngest player in Europe that is playing in major leauge and senior team with plus 20min avg.

Currently I playing in the Proteas Voula from Athens Division 1 Womens leauge..team which is a collection of older and experienced and young players..posibilities for progress is great, the atmosphere, club organization just awesome ... We train 3 times a day in the morning before school and evening ... it is a great time to play beside and against such a players considering my age ...

Interesting is that you can still to take sides for which team you'll igrati..Greek..Cyprus or Serbian?

As for the National team, it is true that I have Possibilities of play for all of these representations ... I'll make a decision this year ..

What are you plans and how you see your self down in future?

My plans now are to do as much as possible and that each day be better and stronger and the results will come alone, why not one day play WNBA
