An interesting game for Keravnos (9-0) which played road game in Limassol against 3rd ranked Apollon (5-3). Top-ranked Keravnos had an easy win 58-42. The game was mostly controlled by Keravnos. Apollon managed to win third quarter 15-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Apollon to just 3 points in fourth quarter. Undefeated Keravnos have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-0 record. Apollon at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost. Keravnos' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Nicosia APOEL.
Bottom-ranked AEK is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their eighth consecutive match to second ranked AEL Limassol (7-2) 87-39. Defending champion maintains second position with 7-2 record having just two points less than leader Keravnos. AEK at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost. AEL Limassol will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. AEK will play at home against ENAD (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game in Nicosia supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked APOP Paphou (5-4) played at the court of 6th ranked ENAD (1-8). APOP Paphou smashed ENAD 68-45 on Sunday. APOP Paphou maintains fourth position with 5-4 record. ENAD lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with eight games lost. APOP Paphou will meet at home higher ranked Apollon (#3) in the next round and it may be the game of the week. ENAD will play against AEK in Larnaca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
