APOEL - Keravnos 59-86
This season might be different for Keravnos Strovolou as tonight in a supposed to be derby between the two most historic teams of Nicosia, Keravnos succeeded the greatest road win (over APOEL) ever after thrashing the Nicosia team with 59-86 with the 27 points difference it the biggest difference for the Strovolos team since the beginning of the Cyprus Basketball federation competition back in 1965-1996.

Coach Christoforos Livadiotis troops were magnificent and show no mercy against their rivals, even though they had their top performer (in the previous games) in a very bad night (Abukar remain in shallow waters with 5 points in 32 minutes and 2 out of 12 two pointers!! 3 turnovers, 4 assist and 3 rebounds in his worst performance with Keravnos jersey, while the Cyprus international forward Stylianoy was at the bench due to his injury). On the other hand, the Greek Coach Tzimis Koustenis saw his players committing 20 turnovers, and being very poor from the parameter while their rebounding activities were much lower than expected (27 over 38 by Keravnos Players).

The game was a continuous monologue for the visitors who got into the court with quite "wild" mood taking the full control of the game after the first eight minutes (the only time that the home team was competitive in the game) with the score being 13-16, 2.39' before the end of the first period, the visitors with Ross and Michael (the happy surprise from Keravnos) succeeded an awesome 9-25 in the next eight minutes and before even the end of the first period the game was practically over, with the visitors dominating allover. The score in the first half ended with (nearly) a double score 26-51, with APOEL's players actually quitting the game..

Ross and Michael were the leading figures and from a very close distance O' Brien and Parks who was the absolute dominant on the rebounding area. The third and forth period were simply without any interest as the players of the two teams (for obvious different reasons) were just wanted the game to finish, the remaining two periods ended with 33-35 for the final 59-86. MVP of the game was Kenny Barker (191-G-86, college: Alaska-Anch.) with his 19 points, 4 rebounds, 8 assists, and 1 steal.

Keravnos is now at the top spot with a record of 7-1 and APOEL has now a record of 4-4.

Top scorers:
APOEL: Kounnas 13 points, Brown and Wright 10 points per head
Keravnos: Kenny Barker 19, Ross 16, O' Brien 15, Parks 14 and 10 rebounds, Michael 10 and 7 rebounds.

On the other games of the week the results and the scorers were as follows:
Petrolina AEK - Apollon Limassol 55-60
A great derby took place in Limassol with both the teams being very close to the victory but with AEK Larnakas at the end being more accurate and with better bench beat the home team with 55-60. Torey Thomas (178-PG-85, college: Holy Cross) was the MVP of the game with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists followed by the Cyprus veteran power forward Trisokkas who added another 11 points. On behalf of the improved team of Apollon Limassol, top scorer was Jermaine Marshall (193-G-90, college: Arizona St.) with 16 points, followed by Franklin and Koronidis with 13 and 12 points respectively. AEK larnakas is at the second spot of the league with a record of 6-2 while Apollon has now a record of 2-6.

On the third game of the week, in an amazing and offensive game, ETHA beat E.N. Paralimni with 92-83 and moved to the 5th place of the board. The game was an absolute derby all the way round with the final score being a bit of unfair (the deficit of the game) for Paralimni as most of the game the deficit was quite difference and 1.52' for the end of the game ETHA was leading by 4 (83-79). In general terms the home team was controlling lightly the game and never let go, with Paralimni being always fro ma closed distance. Top scorer for ETHA and MVP was Ortiz who ended the game with 22 points and 8 rebounds, followed by the always solid Maxie Esho (206-F-91, college: Massachusetts) who ended the game with 21 points 8 rebounds and 5 turnovers, while Baden Jaxen (190-G-90, college: N.Carolina) scored 16. From the visitors who now fell to a record of 3-5, top scorer was Ray who scored 21 points, followed by Blakes with 20 and Thomas with 15.

Keravnos - AEK 80-79 Keravnos eked out a narrow home win over AEK to victoriously open Division A Finals. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But AEK won fourth quarter 26-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Keravnos looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by AEK helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities.
