The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Nicosia: ENAD (#4) and APOEL (#5). ENAD (4-4) smashed visiting APOEL (1-7) by 36 points 70-34. The game without a history. ENAD led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding APOEL to just 6 points in second quarter. ENAD moved-up to third place, which they share with Apollon. APOEL lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with seven games lost. ENAD is looking forward to face bottom-ranked AEK (#6) in Larnaca in the next round. APOEL will play at home against Apollon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Limassol: AEL Limassol (#1) and Apollon (#3). Apollon was defeated at home 48-55 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Undefeated AEL Limassol (8-0) have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with a perfect record of 8 victories in a row. Apollon at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. They share the position with ENAD. AEL Limassol will play against league's second-placed Keravnos in Nicosia in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Apollon will play on the road against APOEL in Nicosia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked AEK (0-8) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 89-35 loss to second ranked Keravnos (7-1) in Nicosia on Sunday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. Keravnos have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 7-1 record behind leader AEL Limassol. Loser AEK still closes the standings with eight games lost. Keravnos will meet league's leader AEL Limassol on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. AEK will play against ENAD (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
