Fifth-ranked Apollon (2-7) gave a tough game to first ranked Keravnos (8-1) in Strovolos on Wednesday. Keravnos managed to secure only three-point victory 73-70. However their fans expected much easier game. Keravnos looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American point guard Ronald Ross (188-83, college: Texas Tech) stepped up and scored 14 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals for the winners and American-Somalian forward Mohamed Abukar (208-85, college: San Diego St., agency: Two Points) chipped in 18 points. The best for the losing side was American guard Jermaine Marshall (193-90, college: Arizona St.) with 21 points and 6 rebounds. Keravnos have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-1 record. Apollon at the other side keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Etha. Keravnos are looking forward to face league's second-placed AEK in Larnaca in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Apollon will play at home against Enosis and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Gerry Blakes (193, college: Arizona St.) nailed 25 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and Eric Washington accounted for 15 points and 5 assists. Swingman Akeem Wright (200-84, college: Kansas St.) came up with 22 points and 8 rebounds for Apoel in the defeat. Enosis moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Apoel. Apoel lost their third game in a row. Enosis will play against Apollon (#5) in Limassol in the next round. Apoel will play at home against Etha and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Enosis - Apoel 82-76

Enosis moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Apoel. Apoel lost their third game in a row. Enosis will play against Apollon (#5) in Limassol in the next round. Apoel will play at home against Etha and hopes to get back on the winning track.
