Murphy
Burnatowski
An interesting game for Apoel (6-5) which hosted in Nicosia 4th placed Enosis (4-7). Third ranked Apoel managed to get a 5-point victory 78-73. Enosis was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Canadian Murphy Burnatowski (200-90, college: Colgate) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds. American guard Tre Bussey (190-91, college: Georgia South) contributed with 22 points and 4 assists for the winners. American point guard Eric Washington (178-93, college: Miami, OH) answered with 24 points and 6 assists for Enosis. Apoel maintains third place with 6-5 record having four points less than leader Keravnos. Enosis at the other side keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Apoel are looking forward to face Apollon (#5) in Limassol in the next round. Enosis will play on the road against Etha in Nicosia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Division A top team - Keravnos (10-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Etha (2-9) in Strovolos 92-67. It was a great evening for American forward Jake O'Brien (206-89, college: Temple, agency: HMS) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds. Ronald Ross helped adding 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard Baden Jaxen (190-90, college: N.Carolina) responded with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Keravnos have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-1 record. Etha lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Keravnos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Etha will play at home against the league's second-placed AEK (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game between second ranked AEK (8-3) and 5th ranked Apollon (3-8) in Larnaca on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. AEK outscored guests from Limassol 88-57. It was a quality performance for Torey Thomas who led the winners and scored 20 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Isiah Jones came up with 15 points and 6 assists for Apollon in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains second place with 8-3 record having just two points less than leader Keravnos. Loser Apollon keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. AEK will meet bottom-ranked Etha (#6) in the next round. Apollon will play against Apoel and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Keravnos is the champion after many attempts... - 18 days ago
Ten years after the last championship, Keravnos Strovolou finally and after a great 'fight' against the last season's champions (and top favourite team according to available budget) AEK Larnakas, won the final series with 3-1 and won totally fair the sixth championship trophy with the last one being back in 2008. After quite many times being very close to the trophy but losing it at the very last minute, Keravnos management decided to trust in the head coaching position (after many-many...   [read more]
