Mohamed
Abukar
American-Somalian Forward Mohamed Abukar (208-F-85, agency: Two Points) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Keravnos, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 12.
The 31-year old player was the main contributor (25 points, six rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush AEK (#2, 8-4) with 20-point margin 91-71. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Keravnos to consolidate first place in the Cypriot Division A. Keravnos has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 11-1. In the team's last game Abukar had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Keravnos' top player in his first season with the team. Former San Diego State University star has very solid stats this year. Abukar is in league's top in points (5th best: 15.9ppg) and averages impressive 57.0% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 26-year old American Baden Jaxen (190-G-90) of Etha. Jaxen had a very good evening with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as Etha lost that game 65-75 to slightly higher-ranked Enosis (#4, 5-7). Etha are still at the very bottom. 10 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Etha managed to get this year. Jaxen is a newcomer at Etha, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Canadian Murphy Burnatowski (200-SF-90) of Apoel (#3). Burnatowski scored 26 points. He was a key player of Apoel, leading his team to a 88-71 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Apollon (#5, 3-9). Apoel needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 7 victories and 5 lost games. Burnatowski has a great season in Cyprus. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 14.3ppg (7th best) and rebounds with 6.1rpg (8th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Tre Bussey (190-G-91) of Apoel - 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists
5. Cadarian Raines (206-F-90) of Apollon - 19 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Brandon Mobley (206-F-91) of Apoel - 15 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Ronald Ross (188-PG-83) of Keravnos - 21 points, 2 rebounds and 6 assists
8. Primoz Brezec (216-F/C-79) of AEK - 18 points and 5 rebounds
9. Kevin Thomas (203-F-92) of Enosis - 8 points, 15 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Gerry Blakes (193-G) of Enosis - 20 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
