Tre Bussey
The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Nicosia: Apoel (#3) and Etha (#5). Apoel (8-7) won against visiting Etha (3-12) 73-69. They outrebounded Etha 43-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. 28 personal fouls committed by Etha helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American guard Tre Bussey (190-91, college: Georgia South) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Canadian Murphy Burnatowski (200-90, college: Colgate) helped adding 17 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American guard Baden Jaxen (190-90, college: N.Carolina) with 30 points and 6 rebounds (went 13 for 13 at the free throw line !!!). Apoel maintains third place with 8-7 record having six points less than leader Keravnos. Etha at the other side dropped to the bottom position with 12 games lost. They share it with Apollon. Apoel are looking forward to face Apollon (#5) in Limassol in the next round. Etha will play on the road against Enosis in Paralimni and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

AEK's coach Linos Gavriel used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Gerry Blakes (193, college: Arizona St.) came up with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for Enosis in the defeat. AEK have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 11-4 record having just three points less than leader Keravnos. Enosis at the other side keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. AEK will play against league's leader Keravnos in Strovolos in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Enosis will play at home against Etha and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Division A top team - Keravnos (14-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Apollon (3-12) in Limassol 78-44. The game without a history. Keravnos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Apollon to just 5 points in second quarter. Keravnos dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Apollon's 18. Keravnos forced 21 Apollon turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Apollon's players. The best player for the winners was American power forward Terell Parks (204-91, college: W.Illinois) who scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. American-Somalian forward Mohamed Abukar (208-85, college: San Diego St., agency: Two Points) chipped in 15 points. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international Marios Georgiou (201-91) who recorded 13 points and 5 rebounds and Adamos Panagidis (186-99) added 9 points respectively.
