There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in Division A.

The most shocking disappointment of round 18 was a home defeat of 5th ranked Apollon (3-15) to sixth ranked Etha (4-14) 96-83 in the game for the fifth place. The game was mostly controlled by Etha. Apollon managed to win second period 19-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Apollon's 22. Etha had a 29-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 29 personal fouls committed by Apollon helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Baden Jaxen (190-90, college: N.Carolina) scored 36 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Leron Barnes (196-93, college: Houston) chipped in 21 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international point guard Aristides Koronides (188-82) with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Etha moved-up to fifth place. Apollon lost eighth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 15 games lost. Etha are looking forward to face higher ranked Apoel (#3) in Nicosia in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Apollon will play on the road against the league's leader Keravnos in Strovolos and is hoping to win this game.
Very significant was AEK's (#2, 14-4) victory against one of their biggest challengers Apoel (9-9) 73-69. Montenegrin Vladimir Dasic (207-88) notched 8 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and Primoz Brezec supported him with 16 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Even 20 points by American guard Tre Bussey (190-91, college: Georgia South) did not help to save the game for Apoel. AEK (14-4) have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position having just two points less than leader Keravnos. Apoel at the other side keeps the third place with nine games lost. AEK will play against Enosis (#4) in Paralimni in the next round. Apoel will play on the road against Etha in Nicosia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very significant was Keravnos' (#1, 16-2) victory against 4th ranked Enosis (8-10) 76-62. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Enosis.
