Baden Jaxen
American Guard Baden Jaxen (190-G-90) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Etha, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 18.
The 26-year old player was the main contributor (36 points, nine rebounds and nine assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Apollon (#6, 3-15) 96-83. Etha is placed at 5th position in Cypriot Division A. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 14 games and recorded just four victories. In the team's last game Jaxen had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Etha's top player in his first season with the team. Former University of North Carolina star has very solid stats this year. Jaxen is league's best scorer averaging so far 20.4ppg. Jaxen is in league's top in assists (7th best: 4.0apg) and averages impressive 54.3% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 23-year old American Eric Washington (178-PG-93) of Enosis. Washington had a very good evening with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Bad luck as Enosis lost that game 62-76 to the higher-ranked Keravnos (#1, 16-2). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Enosis still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 8-10 record. Washington is a newcomer at Enosis, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Greek guard Aristides Koronides (188-PG-82) of Apollon (#6). Koronides scored 29 points and passed ten assists (!!!). Despite Koronides' great performance Apollon lost 83-96 to slightly higher-ranked Etha (#5, 4-14). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Apollon can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 3-15 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Too bad for Koronides he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Koronides has individually a great season in Cyprus. After 16 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 4.0apg (6th best). Aristides Koronides has also Cypriot passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Kenny Barker (191-G-86) of Keravnos - 16 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists
5. Christos Panayiotou (196-C/F-91) of Etha - 11 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Leron Barnes (196-G-93) of Etha - 21 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Jake O'Brien (206-F-89) of Keravnos - 17 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Gerry Blakes (193-G) of Enosis - 18 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Tre Bussey (190-G-91) of Apoel - 20 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Ronald Ross (188-PG-83) of Keravnos - 15 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
