Janae Sharpe
Keravnos Strovolou after many attempts to win the championship for more than a decade, finally manage to success and win it after beating the permanent champion team of AEL Limassol (50-44 for teh 3-2 in the series) and the awesome and historic figure of Head Coach and player Kalia Papadopoulou (166-PG-80) in her last game as an active player as she decided to quit basketball at her 37th year of age and after 24 successful seasons in Cyprus (AEL Limassol and Keravnos Strovolou) Greece (Thermaikos Thermis and Hania) and France (Laveyron), with a great number of personal and team trophies.. Kalia Papadopoulou will now be the new Head Coach of the Cyprus Women's National Team in a a total restart as the federation finally decided to hand over the women's national team after so many years to a person that really knows the Cyprus (and not only) Women's league.

About the game now, as most of the previous games between the two best teams of Cyprus the last many seasons, the game was an absolute derby with none of the teams being able to get a difference of more than 3-5 points, with Keravnos mostly getting the lead simply due to the best player in the court (and afterwards the MVP of the game) the American Janae Sharpe (170-G-93, college: CS Northridge) who was really amazing scoring nearly half of the points for her team. The first 30 minutes Keravnos was leading with a couple of points, but Kalia Papadopoulou and her troops never said the final word and with a solid defense and good passing game, AEL Limassol took the lead with 35-41 making the people of Keravnos and especially the Head Coach (who lost last season's trophy from the same team) to call for a time-out which was a saver for Keravnos since five minutes before the end and right after the time-out, Keravnos girls went in the court and with Janae Sharp on the leading role, succeeded a solid 15-3 to finally win the title.. So after the Cyprus Cup and the Super Cup, Keravnos is winning this season the treble with the most valuable player being (Sharpe) scoring 20 points!!

On the other end, Kalia Papadopoulou was once more the top player of AEL and together with Zivanovic and Orlovic scored 34 points but none of her team-mates and players was able to score more than the 6 points scored by Larkou and 4 by Menelaou

It's characteristic that the Head Coach of Keravnos succeeded all the members of the team but especially the experienced Zoe Athanasiou who is two months pregnant but never quit the game or the training, she called her a hero and she actually is..

Top scorers of the game:
Keravnos: Sharpe 20, Pitsillidou 8, Roussaki and Theologou 7 points per head, Athanasiou 6 and Nikodemou 2
AEL: Zivanovic 13, Papadopoulou 11, Orlovic 10, Menelaou 4, Larkou 6
