Geofin Novy Jicin signed the best scorer of Swiss League Corey Muirhead (198-F-83, college: W.Carolina). Corey was averaging close to 21 ppg and 6 rpg in this season in Switzerland and has left Herens, after the owner of the team decided to withdraw from the League after problem with local authorities. Corey signed a contract until the end of this season with 2 weeks tryout period. Novy Jicin officials hope to finally find the right man for a swingman position, after trying Jamar Smith (188-G-85, college: Morgan St.), Lavor Postell (197-F/G-78, college: St.John's) and Shuan Stegall (201-F-85, agency: Pro Management Agency, college: Kennesaw St.), just this season out.
BK Prostejov decided to resolve its problems on a big man spot, after Richard Lesko (204-F-81, college: Ill.-Chicago) and Pavel Stanek (203-F/C-76, agency: Court Side) got injured, by signing Jason Miller (208-F/C-80, college: Oklahoma St.). Jason left Gottingen in 1. Bundesliga in Germany, in December. He is a very solid big man, equally usable on power forward and center spot. Jason signed a contract until the end of season.
After releasing Carey Rigsby (206-F/C-80, college: Belhaven) for unsatisfying performance in November, BK Kondori Liberec were looking for a replacement. They seem to find the right player in Boris Meno (203-F-83, college: Davidson). Boris graduted in 2008 from NCAA 1 team Davidson. His first steps in professional career led him to France to a ProA team in STB Le Havre. However he didnt pass a 3 games tryout there, averaging 5.3pg and 4.7rpg in 16mpg. He should bring more aggressiveness and energy to game of Liberec.
At the same time Jakub Blazek (203-F-80) moved from Liberec after 1,5 seasons he had spent there, back to BK Breda & Weinstein Opava. He already played 2 games in his old-new jersey.
