Czech Republic National Team member Jiri Hubalek (209-C-82, agency: Interperformances, college: Iowa St.) will be headed to Las Vegas, Nevada to take part in the NBA summer League as a member of the Phoenix Suns entry. Hubalek, who just completed his first professional season after leaving Iowa State University, played for Solsonica Rieti in Italys Serie A. Hubalek, who just completed his first professional season after leaving Iowa State University, played for Solsonica Rieti in Italys Serie A. In 26 games, the sweet-shooting 6-11 forward averaged 8.3 points and pulled down 5.0 rebounds in 26 games. In the fall, as a member of the Czech National Team at the 2008 European Championships Qualification tournament, Hubalek appeared in six games and averaged 7.5 points and 3.0 rebounds while shooting 12-22 (53.7%) from the field. This is the second summer Hubalek will be with Phoenix at the Vegas Summer League, having earned a training camp invite before receiving a guaranteed deal from Rieti.
Continuing to fortify their team for a run at yet another Mattoni NBL crown, reigning champions CEZ Nymburk last week inked Michael Lenzly (189-G-81, college: Wofford) to play for the 2009-2010 season. The 28-year old guard out of Wofford played this last season for Harem Scafati Basket in Italys Lega Due, where in 37 games averaged 10.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists while shooting 43.4% from the field and 39.2% from three. Lenzly helped lead Scafati to the Lega Due semifinals and was named to the Eurobasket.com Lega Due All-Bosmans Team. The well-traveled guard who was born in Oxford, England has also played in Germany, Latvia, Spain, Cyprus and Belgium since leaving school in 2003.

The greatest disappointment of last season Pardubice continue fortyfying their roster. The last addition was a 22 years old and 5'9'' tall Derek Wright (175-G-86, agency: Prime Select Sports, college: Austin Peay St.). He came to Pardubice to replace the very popular Levell Sanders, who's contract finnished, and is a free agent now. The new coach Slowiak believes, Derek will be able to bring more energy and enthusiasm to the game of Pardubice [read more]
