The Regular Season in ZBL just ended. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with derby games, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Praha: USK Praha (#1) and VS Praha (#3). VS Praha was defeated at home 63-78 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of VS Praha. The game was mostly controlled by USK Praha. VS Praha managed to win second period 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when USK Praha won last quarter 28-14. They also forced 19 VS Praha turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Eva Viteckova (190-82) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. American guard Lindsay Whalen (173-82, college: Minnesota) contributed with 23 points (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners. Center Petra Reisingerova (195-73) replied with 14 points and 7 rebounds for VS Praha. Undefeated USK Praha (22-0) have an impressive 22-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 22 victories in a row. VS Praha at the other side keeps the third place with seven games lost. They share the position with Trutnov.
An interesting game for Frisco Sika (19-3) which hosted in Brno one of their biggest challengers Kara Trutnov (15-7). Second ranked Frisco Sika managed to get a 14-point victory 90-76. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kara Trutnov. Swedish forward Farhiya Abdi (188-92) had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Alena Hanusova chipped in 22 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. At the losing side forward Katerina Novakova (188-85) responded with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Kara Trutnov's coach rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Frisco Sika have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 19-3 record having just three points less than leader USK Praha. Kara Trutnov at the other side keeps the third place with seven games lost. They share the position with VS Praha.
Bottom-ranked DSK Karlin is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 22th consecutive match to eleventh ranked BK Pliska Studanka (3-19) 59-56 on Sunday evening. Renata Brezinova notched a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks to lead the effort. Even a double-double of 11 points and 21 rebounds by Julia Demirer did not help to save the game for DSK Karlin. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. BK Pliska Studanka maintains eleventh position with 3-19 record. Newly promoted DSK Karlin still closes the standings.
The game in Strakonice was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Frisco Sika (19-3) played at the court of 7th ranked Aldast Strakonice (9-13). Frisco Sika defeated Aldast Strakonice 81-66.
