David Machac
Experienced David Machac (204-F-80) had an amazing evening in the last round for BC Kolin and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 5 (Second Stage).
The 31-year old forward had the game-high 33 points adding seven rebounds and two assists for BC Kolin in his team's victory, helping them to beat BK Prostejov (#2, 23-8) 97-82. BC Kolin maintains the 5th position in Czech Republic NBL. BC Kolin is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 21th lost game this season out of 41 games. In the team's last game Machac had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at BC Kolin, through which he has constantly improved. David Machac averages this season 14.4ppg and 6.0rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 27-year old American Marcus Arnold (207-C/F-84, agency: Stanley International) of BK Pardubice. Arnold impressed basketball fans with 22 points and 8 rebounds. Bad luck as BK Pardubice lost that game 74-85 to the higher-ranked CEZ Nymburk (#1, 30-1). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in A1. BK Pardubice still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 21-10 record is not bad at all. Arnold is one of the most experienced players at BK Pardubice and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. University of Illinois alumni Arnold played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.

The third best performed player last round was Adam Ciz (190-PG-91) of NH Ostrava (#-5). Ciz showcased his all-around game by recording 17 points, five rebounds and nine assists in the last round. He was a key player of NH Ostrava, leading his team to a 80-67 easy win against #1 ranked Plzen. NH Ostrava needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in A2. Their record at this point is 20 victories and 14 lost games. Ciz has a very solid season. In 31 games in Czech Republic he scored 6.9ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Pavel Houska (204-F/C-84) of BK Decin - 18 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
5. A.J. Abrams (180-G-86) of CEZ Nymburk - 25 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Chadwick-Farrell Barnes (190-G-83) of BC Kolin - 16 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists
7. Brad Reese (198-F-88) of Usti n/Labem - 20 points and 12 rebounds
8. Michael Deloach (183-PG-86) of Svitavy - 16 points, 4 rebounds and 10 assists
9. Roman Marko (195-G-86) of BC Kolin - 19 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Riley Luettgerodt (196-G/F-85) of NH Ostrava - 18 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
