VS Praha (#5) forced the game against Kara Trutnov (#3) into a double-overtime, but lost by six points 98-104 on Saturday night. The game took place in Praha. But the guests from Trutnov were better at the end. Lenka Vetrovcova stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) for the winners. Kara Trutnov maintains third place in Group A1 with 19-12 record having twelve points less than leader USK Praha. VS Praha at the other side dropped to the fourth position with 13 games lost. Kara Trutnov will face Sokol Hradec Kralove (#5) at home in the next round. VS Praha will play against the league's second-placed Frisco Sika in Brno and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In Group A1 USK Praha destroyed Hradec Kralove on the opponent's court 106-56. Slovanka MB lost to defending champion Frisco Sika in a home game 60-72.
In Group A2 Strakonice recorded a loss to Valosun Brno on the road 76-80. VSE Praha defeated Karlovy Vary on its own court 63-55. Pardubice was beaten by DSK Karlin in a road game 81-80.

VS Praha (#5) forced the game against Kara Trutnov (#3) into a double-overtime, but lost by six points 98-104 on Saturday night. The game took place in Praha. But the guests from Trutnov were better at the end. The guests trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 19-13 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 0-point victory in double-overtime. Kara Trutnov made 22-of-23 free shots (95.7 percent) during the game, while VS Praha only scored three points from the stripe. They outrebounded VS Praha 47-30 including 19 on the offensive glass. Center Lenka Vetrovcova (188-84) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) for the winners and the former international forward Hana Snajdrova-Ziklova (183-80) chipped in 18 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was Belgian power forward Evelien Callens (188-84) with 28 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and center Petra Reisingerova (195-73) scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kara Trutnov maintains third place in Group A1 with 19-12 record having twelve points less than leader USK Praha. Hradec Kralove - USK Praha 56-106

Rather expected game when 4th placed Sokol Hradec Kralove (17-14) was crushed at home by leader USK Praha (31-0) 106-56 on Saturday. The game without a history. USK Praha led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Sokol Hradec Kralove's 30. They outrebounded Sokol Hradec Kralove 52-29 including a 34-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Delisha Milton-Jones (186-74, college: Florida, agency: Josep and Nicolas) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and Swedish guard Frida Eldebrink (174-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 22 points. Five USK Praha players scored in double figures. USK Praha's coach Lubor Blazek felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was forward Klara Rosenbaumova (182-90) with 19 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Katerina Zavazalova (172-90) scored 13 points. USK Praha have an impressive series of 31 victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group A1 with 31-0 record. Loser Sokol Hradec Kralove dropped to the fifth position with 14 games lost. USK Praha will face Basket Slovanka MB (#6) in Vodochody in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Sokol Hradec Kralove will play on the road against Kara Trutnov and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Basket Slovanka MB was better in third quarter 14-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Frisco Sika forced 22 Basket Slovanka MB turnovers. International power forward Alena Hanusova (189-91) stepped up and scored 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and Swedish forward Farhiya Abdi (188-92) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Frisco Sika players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American center Mellisa D'Amico (195-86, college: Notre Dame) with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds and center Eva Dujsikova (188-86) scored 15 points. Basket Slovanka MB's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion maintains second place in Group A1 with 24-7 record having seven points less than leader USK Praha. Loser Basket Slovanka MB keeps the sixth position with 15 games lost. Aldast Strakonice trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 25-17 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 76-80 at the end of the game. Valosun Brno made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Swingman Veronika Vlkova (176-84) stepped up and scored 18 points and 4 assists for the winners and Slovakian power forward Eva Kmetova (188-87) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was forward Katerina Krizova (186-80) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and international center Zora Skrabalova (195-81, college: Illinois St., agency: Josep and Nicolas) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary won third quarter 12-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when VSE Praha won last quarter 21-14. VSE Praha outrebounded Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary 38-25 including 30 on the defensive glass. American forward Marshae Dotson (180-87, college: Florida) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and her fellow American import forward Dalila Eshe (191-84, college: Florida) chipped in 16 points. The best for the losing side was Slovakian forward Lucia Krc-Turbova (185-87) with 11 points and 8 rebounds and forward Sarka Kucerova (181) scored 16 points. Basket Slovanka MB Tabor (ZBL) signed 23-year old American guard Leah Scott (183-93). She just graduated from Marshall (NCAA). Scott has played there for the last three years. In 6 games she had very impressive stats: 15.5ppg, 6.3rpg and 2.5apg last season. As mentioned above she is just out of the college and it will be her first season as a pro. SBS Ostrava (ZBL) added to their roster 25-year old American swingman Brandi Wingate (188-91). Wingate just graduated from Louisiana Tech (NCAA). In four games she recorded very impressive stats: 20.5ppg, 7.5rpg, 1.0apg and 1.3spg last season. As mentioned above she is just out of the college and it will be her first season as a pro.
