Australia finished the international tournament in Karlovy Vary with victory. They overcame the hosts 67:48 for 2-1 record. Czech Republic fell at 1-2 record. Lauren Jackson (196-F/C-81) came up with 14 points to lead the winners.
The hosts secured a 15:14 lead after ten minutes. The Opals gradually took over. They arrived at halftime enjoying a slim 32:29 advantage. The Aussies boosted the gap in the third term. They cleared off to an 11-point distance at the final intermission 46:35. Australia dominated in the final period. The Opals cruised to the victory in the final minutes. Suzy Batkovic-Brown (193-C-80) delivered 12 points, while Samantha Richards (167-G-83) and Belinda Snell (181-F-81) had 8 points apiece in the win. Katerina Elhotova (180-SG-89) answered with 12 points for Czech Republic. Jana Vesela (192-F-83) and Ilona Burgrova (196-C-84, college: S.Carolina) connected for 7 points each in the loss.
