Poland claimed a crucial win at U16 European Championship Group D. They overcame Czech Republic to advance into the Second Stage of the tournament. Kamil Zywert (188-PG-96) came up with 22 points, 6 assists and 4 rebounds to lead the Polish team. Czech Republic fell at 0-3 record and would play in relegation round. Poland set the tone early in the game. They outscored their opponents 21:11 in the first ten minutes. The teams exchanged baskets throughout intense second quarter. Poland though remained in charge posting a 42:32 halftime lead. Poland extended the lead in the third quarter. They ensured a 14-point advantage at the final intermission. Czech Republic got within four midway through the final stanza but Poland quickly restored a safe cushion and marched to the victory. Grzegorz Kulka (192-PF-96) posted 18 points, while Marek Zywert (185-SG-96) and Mateusz Stawiak (199-PF-96) added 11 points each for the winners. Matej Svoboda (200-PF-96) answered with 21 points and 9 rebounds for Czech Republic. Marek Mares (185-G-96) had 13 points in the loss.

#1. This week's number one is an international center Ondrej Balvin (216-92, currently plays in Spain), who plays in the Spanish ACB. He could not help one of league's weakest teams Cajasol (12-22) in their last game. Despite Balvin's good performance Cajasol lost 68-76 at home to the higher-ranked (#14) Baloncesto Fuenlabrada.
He was the second best scorer with 14 points. Balvin also added 7 rebounds in 29 minutes on the court.
The Regular Season already ended.
This year Balvin averages: 3.6ppg, 2.9rpg, 2FGP: 59.2%(42-71) and FT: 60.6% in the 29 games he played so far.
He is currently a member of the Czech Republic senior national team.
#2. Second place goes to an international shooting guard Pavel Pumprla (198-86, currently plays in Spain). Pumprla led Blusens Monbus to a victory against the closely-ranked Gescrap BB (19-15) 79-73 in the Spanish ACB last Sunday.
He recorded 11 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.
Blusens Monbus Obradoiro CAB (18-16) is placed eighth in the ACB.
There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
It's Pumprla's first season with the team.
Pumprla's overall stats this year are: 6.5ppg, 3.3rpg, 1.2apg, 1.1spg, 2FGP: 57.6%(76-132), 3FGP: 33.3%.

#3. The Czech Republic player who performed third best last week abroad was an international point guard Tomas Satoransky (201-91, currently plays in Spain) is a teammate of previously mentioned Ondrej Balvin and both played together in the last Spanish ACB game.

#4. Center Jiri Hubalek (208-82, agency: Two Points, college: Iowa St., currently plays in Italy) contributed to an Umana Venezia's surprising victory against the league leader Cimberio Varese (23-7) 84-72 in the Italian SerieA in Thursday night's game.
He recorded 6 points.
Umana Reyer Venezia (16-14) is placed eighth in the SerieA.
Hubalek's overall stats this season are: 4.5ppg and 2.7rpg.
He used to play for the Czech Republic national team
back in 2009.
#5. International shooting guard David Jelinek (194-90, currently plays in Spain) was not able to secure a victory for Caja Laboral (25-9) in their game against CB Canarias (17-17) in the Spanish ACB. Jelinek did not have that impressive stats last Sunday.
He recorded only 2 points in 7 minutes on the court.
Caja Laboral lost 94-99 on the road to the much lower-ranked (#10) CB Canarias.
There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial.
This year Jelinek averages just 2.3ppg in the 13 games.

#6. Center Tomas Hampl (215-88, currently plays in Spain) contributed to a River Andorra's victory against the sixth-ranked Caceres Basket (12-14) 82-70 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) on Sunday night.
Hampl recorded 8 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.
B.C. River Andorra (20-3) is placed in the LEB Gold.
Hampl's overall stats this season are: 7.3ppg and 3.7rpg.
He is an international player who is currently on the senior Czech Republic National Team roster.

But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening.
