It's still too early stage of the Regular Season in ZBL, but even now we can clearly see the differece between stronger teams and outsiders.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Valosun Brno (2-1) at the home court on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by Kara Trutnov (3-0) 91-86. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Valosun Brno. It was a key game for the top position in the league as both teams had the same 2-0 record before this meeting. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Valosun Brno won third quarter 20-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kara Trutnov made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Valosun Brno turnovers. The best player for the winners was American forward Ambrosia Anderson (186-84, college: BYU) who scored 28 points. International swingman Katerina Hindrakova (176-88) chipped in 21 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Kara Trutnov's coach Martin Petrovicky used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Ashleigh Fontenette (172-89, college: Texas) who recorded 27 points and 8 rebounds. Kara Trutnov have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with USK Praha and IMOS Brno. Valosun Brno at the other side keeps the fourth place with one game lost. They share the position with Hradec Kralove and VS Praha. Kara Trutnov is looking forward to face Sokol Hradec Kralove (#4) at home in the next round. Valosun Brno will play against VS Praha and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

It was a good game for international forward Tereza Peckova (187-87) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds. Nicole Ohlde contributed with 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Forward Karla Gergelova (185-88, college: UNLV) answered with 14 points for Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. IMOS Brno have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 3-0 record, which they share with USK Praha and Trutnov. Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary at the other side dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. They share it with Slovanka MB and DSK Karlin. IMOS Brno will play against Aldast Strakonice (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary will play against DSK Karlin (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Praha was also quite interesting. 7th ranked Basket Slovanka MB (1-2) played at the court of eighth ranked VS Praha (2-1). VS Praha managed to secure a 5-point victory 82-77 on Wednesday. It was a great evening for Marshae Dotson who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Porchia Green with 22 points and 6 rebounds. Basket Slovanka MB's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. VS Praha moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Hradec Kralove and Valosun Brno. Loser Basket Slovanka MB keeps the seventh position with two games lost. They share it with Lokomotiva and DSK Karlin. VS Praha will meet at home Valosun Brno (#5) in the next round. Basket Slovanka MB will play against USK Praha.

It was a quality performance for Katerina Elhotova who led the winners and scored 26 points and 5 rebounds. USK Praha's coach Ivan Benes felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. USK Praha have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with IMOS Brno and Trutnov. Aldast Strakonice at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. USK Praha's next round opponent will be Basket Slovanka MB (#9) in Vodochody and are hoping to win another game. Aldast Strakonice will play on the road against the league's leader IMOS Brno and hopes to get finally their first victory.

In the last two games of round 3 DSK Karlin crushed Pardubice in a road game 85-63. Hradec Kralove smashed VSE Praha at home 91-69.



Pardubice - DSK Karlin 63-85

Everything could happen in Pardubice at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked DSK Karlin and bottom-ranked BK Pliska Studanka had identical 0-2 record. But BK Pliska Studanka was not able to use a home court advantage and was crushed by the opponent from Karlin 85-63. The game was mostly controlled by DSK Karlin. BK Pliska Studanka was better in third quarter 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. DSK Karlin dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to BK Pliska Studanka's 38. They outrebounded BK Pliska Studanka 38-21 including a 28-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American center Melissa D'Amico (195-86, college: Notre Dame, agency: Regeneracom Sports) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 9 rebounds. Her fellow American import forward Arnika Brown (187-87, college: W.Kentucky, agency: LBM Management) accounted for 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Five DSK Karlin players scored in double figures. Swingman Michaela Pavlasova (180-91) came up with 18 points and guard Eliska Chocholousova (168-94) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for BK Pliska Studanka in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. DSK Karlin (1-2) left bottom position moving up to seventh place, which they share with Lokomotiva and Slovanka MB. It was BK Pliska Studanka's third loss in a row. They still closes the standings with three games lost. DSK Karlin's next round opponent will be Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary (#8) at home. BK Pliska Studanka will play against VSE Praha and hopes to get finally their first victory.

IMOS Brno forced 22 Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary turnovers and outrebounded them 43-25 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Sokol Hradec Kralove forced 20 VSE Praha turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for the former international center Michaela Hartigova (192-83) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Slovakian point guard Darina Misurova (163-81) accounted for 17 points for the winning side. Four Sokol Hradec Kralove players scored in double figures. She had the game-high 31 points adding nine rebounds for BLK Praha in her team's victory, helping them to crush Slovanka MB (#10, 3-9) with 21-point margin 85-64.
