NBL Regular Season is still in too early stage and there may be still significant changes in the standings.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Levice (1-1) at the home court on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by leader BK Pardubice (2-0) 86-80. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-80. It was a great evening for Canadian-Jamaican forward Corey Muirhead (197-83, college: W.Carolina) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international power forward Zbynek Pospisil (206-81) helped adding 15 points and 11 rebounds. BK Pardubice's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Willie Kemp (188-87, college: Memphis) with 17 points and 7 assists. BK Pardubice maintains third place with 2-0 record behind leader CEZ Nymburk. Levice at the other side dropped to the sixth position with one game lost. They share it with B&W Opava. BK Pardubice are looking forward to face B&W Opava (#7) at home in the next round. Levice will play against BK Prostejov and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.

Vojtech Hruban accounted for 21 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Jan Pavlik (186-78, agency: Court Side) came up with 14 points for BK Lions Hradec in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. CEZ Nymburk have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 3-0 record, which they share with NH Ostrava. BK Lions Hradec at the other side dropped to the eighth position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. CEZ Nymburk will play against league's second-placed NH Ostrava at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. BK Lions Hradec will play against USK Praha (#4) to get more than just one victory in their record.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 3: BK Prostejov lost to undefeated BK Decin on the opponent's court 75-88. Winless Usti n/Labem unfortunately lost to Chomutov in a home game 80-90. BC Kolin lost to undefeated NH Ostrava on the road 68-75. USK Praha defeated Svitavy on its own court 88-72.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 26 points and 13 rebounds by Pavel Stanek of Chomutov.


J.Hradec - CEZ Nymburk 79-103

NBL top team - CEZ Nymburk (3-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked BK Lions Hradec (1-2) in J.Hradec 103-79. The game was mostly controlled by CEZ Nymburk. BK Lions Hradec was better in second period 25-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. CEZ Nymburk shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 76.5 percentage. BK Lions Hradec was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a quality performance for American guard A.J. Abrams (180-86, college: Texas, agency: Two Points) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. The former international swingman Vojtech Hruban (202-89) accounted for 21 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Four CEZ Nymburk players scored in double figures. Jan Pavlik (186-78, agency: Court Side) came up with 14 points and international guard Ondrej Dygryn (190-84) added 13 points respectively for BK Lions Hradec in the defeat. BK Decin - BK Prostejov 88-75

There was a minor upset when 8th ranked BK Prostejov (1-2) was defeated on the road by leader BK Decin (1-0) 88-75. It looked good early as BK Prostejov took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then BK Decin had a 20-14 second period charge getting the lead and BK Prostejov was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 75-88. BK Decin made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Slovakian center Peter Sedmak (207-85) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Swingman Lubos Stria (197-81) accounted for 16 points for the winning side. BK Decin's coach Pavel Budinsky allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Slovakian Dusan Pandula (196-84) came up with 20 points and 7 rebounds and Slovenian point guard Matej Venta (188-84) added 8 points and 9 rebounds respectively for BK Prostejov in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. BK Decin left bottom position moving up to fifth place. BK Prostejov at the other side keeps the eighth position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. BK Decin will play against Levharti Chomutov (#11) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. BK Prostejov will play against Levice and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Usti n/Labem - Chomutov 80-90

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Levharti Chomutov and bottom-ranked BK Usti nad Labem had identical 0-2 record. But BK Usti nad Labem was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Chomutov 90-80. The game was mostly controlled by Levharti Chomutov. BK Usti nad Labem was better in third quarter 28-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Levharti Chomutov made 28-of-33 charity shots (84.8 percent) during the game. BK Usti nad Labem was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Pavel Stanek (203-76, agency: Court Side) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!). Swingman Pavel Bosak (192-82) accounted for 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. American forward Brad Reese (199-88, college: Texas Tech) came up with 22 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Jaroslav Tyrna (207-86, college: New Orleans) added 15 points and 10 rebounds respectively for BK Usti nad Labem in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Levharti Chomutov (1-2) left bottom position moving up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. It was BK Usti nad Labem's third loss in a row. They still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Svitavy. Levharti Chomutov will play against higher ranked BK Decin (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BK Usti nad Labem will play against BC Kolin (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.

But BC Kolin won second period 19-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Jeremiah Wilson (203-88, college: Tarleton St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Rashaan Ames (184-78, college: Shaw) accounted for 11 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side. Four NH Ostrava players scored in double figures. American guard Demarius Bolds (190-84, college: Missouri Western, agency: I.D.S. Basketbal Svitavy was better in third quarter 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when USK Praha won last quarter 30-16. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Basketbal Svitavy's 40. USK Praha brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for Congolese-French forward Boris Meno (203-83, college: Davidson, agency: Two Points) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Jiri Slavik (203-89) accounted for 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winning side. American point guard Michael Deloach (183-86, college: Norfolk St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and Pavel Harcar (202-89) added 14 points respectively for Basketbal Svitavy in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. USK Praha moved-up to fourth place. Lions Jindrichuv Hradec agreed on terms of contract extension with Lukas Stegbauer(198-PF-95). The power forward will spend one more season with the team. Lukas Stegbauer notched 3.8 points, 2.3 rebounds per game last season. The forward is the product of Nymburk basketball school.
