As first reported by Magazine Sport (http://isport.blesk.cz/clanek/ostatni-basketbal/133044/prostejov-nema-penize-finalistovi-basketbalove-ligy-hrozi-krach.html)

BK Prostejov faces a crucial week of meetings which may determine the clubs financial security for the remainder of the 2012-13 Mattoni NBL season.
"I do not want to spread catastrophic news. We have a series of meetings to resolve the situation. It is true that times are difficult, and difficulty is on all sides. More about this we do not want to say, "said Milan Matzenauer, chairman of the basketball club, with the next game on Saturday, an away contest versus USK Praha live on CT4 Sport.

This is not the first time Prostejov's financial outlook ha come under scrutiny as rumors swirled last season in January that the club's more high-priced players were rumored to be on the move due to lack of payments and an uncertain future.
One of those players rumored to leave, but who stuck it out was Jamar Smith, currently playing in Israel.
Represented by KMG Sports Management and Chet Ervin, Smith was a key reason why Prostejov advanced to the Finals last season but has not seen all of his payments/compensation from last season.
According to his Ervin, Prostejov has yet to pay half of the original agent fee due last September and then failed to submit Jamar's last month's salary.
"We have tirelessly tried to resolve the outstanding debts due directly with Prostejov over the past six months with very little communication on their behalf. It is clear contractually of their breach due to their failure to make all payments. The Club has proved to be very unprofessional and have extreme financial problems from our experience with them.".

If the team is not able to secure outside financing they would follow the curious trend of powerhouse Czech clubs which have failed to maintain sound financial planning, after reining silver medalist's Novy Jicin withdrew from the league in 2011.
The final and most critical meeting according to reports is on Thursday and management will need an immediate influx of money to cover unpaid salaries to players as well as cover the rest of the season.
This season alone marks now the second club to face a financial crisis as Basketbal Svitavy lost their main sponsor last month (former Turi Svitavy, the bull logo was owned by the marketing company) and had to scramble to secure secondary support, which they did.
Despite the troubles faced by club management for the player's sake they are taking things in stride and not letting the situation affect their play, as evidenced by their four-game winning streak prior to Friday night's heartbreaking 73-76 loss to CEZ Nymburk.
A tenuous situation for one of the most successful NBL clubs the past several seasons will hopefully come to a successful resolution for all involved, but we will only have to wait and see.

* No response was received from BK Prostejov management by the author when emailed for comment on the situation regarding finances and outstanding payments to Jamar Smith.
