CEZ Basketball Nymburk (116) vs. Levharti Chomutov (52): (26-12, 31-14, 34-17, 25-9)

Every once in a while CEZ Basketball Nymburk reminds the rest of the Mattoni NBL just who they are and what it means to be nine-time consecutive champion. Routinely playing their domestic NBL games on Friday night this season due to VTB United League contests on the weekend, CEZ Basketball Nymburk crushed visiting Levharrti Chomutov 116-52 tonight at home.
After last week's tough 76-73 victory on the road against BK Prostejov Nymburk showed their worth and strength by cruising Chomutov.
Nymburk's 26 first quarter points were the same amount scored by Chomutov in the first and second quarters combined as well as the combined total Chomutov had in the third and fourth quarters! After 20 minutes the outcome was elementary but the home team kept the pedal to the metal and dis-heartened the visiting Chumutov club to the tune of opening the fourth quarter on a 16-0 run! Leading 91-43 after three quarters Nymburk held Chomutov scoreless for the first 6 minutes of the final quarter eventually steamrolling to a monumental 64 point victory, the highest margin of victory by any team this season. The statistics were basic in tonight's contest. Nymburk connected on more two-point field goals (45) than Chomutov's total field goals (22) plus made free-throws (9) combined. Nymburk forced 29 turnovers from Chomutov and dominated on the boards, in assists, blocks, points in the paint and off of turnovers. 11 of the 12 Nymburk players who saw time on the court scored and eight of them reached double figures, led by Pavel Houska (203-F/C-84)'s team-high 19 points. Tomas Pomikalek (200-F-89) played a team-high 31:23 and talled the game's lone double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds. For Chomutov, newcomer John Fields (205-F-88, college: Tennessee) was once again unstoppable on offense, scoring a game-high 25 points, his third-straight 20+ point performance, but committed a game-high six turnovers. With the victory Nymburk improves to 11-0 while Chomutov falls to 3-8.
NYMBURK: Pavel Houska (19pts), Andrew Naymick (209-C-85) (14pts), Tomas Pomikalek (10pts+10reb), Radek Necas (205-F-80) (6pts+7ast)
CHOMUTOV: John Fields (25pts+9reb+6to), Pavel Bosak (192-G/F-82) (12pts), Ladislav Pecka (197-F-91) (4pts), Showron Glover (180-PG-87) (2pts+4ast+5to)
